Take. My. Money. Now.

I hope this makes a splash at the Oscars and Emma/Rachel/Olivia all get nominated (Olivia possibly even getting the win??). I'm so hyped for this and I think this is out New Year's Day last time I checked <3 This is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos who directed the lobster and the killing of a sacred deer

I've realllly gone off Emma since her Oscar win. I just can't get ove rhow she won for Bla Bla Land when Amy Adams didn't even get nominated for Arrival :/
Emma phones it in and sang a few songs, like....woopee. She wasn't even the best part of the movie. She won on hype alone. Not that she's a bad actress, she's given MUCH
better performances in the past (The Help)

To be fair to Emma (and I don't know why I am being) she's far from the first to win on hype.

This looks BATSHIT brilliant though. I didn't enjoy The Lobster very much but this definitely looks much more ME.

I still stand by Emma's win. She just gives off a natural emotion with everything she does imo and her part in LLL was very emotionally charged. Especially in the big break up scene and the entire 'Audition' scene (also, tbf didn't she lose to Octavia Spencer for The Help?)

Still need to see this trailer and what John is saying about not liking The Lobster but this looking better has me hyped more.

Emotional does not equate to Oscar worthy.

terrific performances and period visuals, but it left me a bit underwhelmed overall 5/10. Arty, annoying at times, not quite dark whimsy, not quite dark drama, something in between. Lacks a beginning, middle and end, more of a series of scenes of bickering and sniping and occasional entertainment. I hope the leads win awards galore, though, they deserve it especially Olivia Colman, what a great actor she is.

Literally, sorry to be a forum clichè but..

THIS.

Just wasn't my thing at all but the 3 leading ladies were all outstanding. Some lovely designs and shots too, but ultimately.. not for me.

I'm just not feeling Yorgos style at all. I still don't know whether 'Lobster' is just awful or actual brilliance. laugh.gif By far the most random and weird film I've ever seen! laugh.gif
