All change at the top as POOLCLVB blazes to #1 with the gorgeous chill summer bop that is Røse's remix of What You Want. The track becomes the longest wait to top my charts as it originally peaked out at #25 last August before dropping out, dropping off the map, and only being rediscovered by me last week. Elohim drops to #2 after a three-week reign at #1, while Sinner's rise to #3 makes it Deaf Havana's highest charting single. Bloom and Nao's comeback Another Lifetime also surge into the top 5 this week, boosted by their videos.
Years & Years and Fonsi Stefflon are new entries into the top ten this week. The ill-fated Rainsford, James Bay, and JLo's Dinero stick around too from last week. Rainsford has proved to be another case of my taste not squaring up so well with the BJSC voters, I'm a sucker for slowburn indie, but it's not everyone's cup of tea, that's fair. She challenged for #1 several times these last few weeks but unfortunately was firmly blocked by Half Love every time. New entries this week come from outside the top 20, with the highest going to a fire collab from Yellow Claw and Lil Debbie and a bunch of random rappers. Tom Walker's Leave a Light On debuts, as does the comeback single from previous Jupiterdonian BJSC entrant Antonia, with a much less colourful video sadly! Other new entries this week come from Selena Gomez, Just Kiddin, Cheat Codes and Little Mix, Sean Paul and Jhene Aiko (another star collab from her), the Preatures, and Jess Glynne's most recent official chart #1. Not so many for this week as I was on my holidays so not listening to as much new stuff. I'll link the videos to those a bit later in the week to save you having to imagine what they sound like If you can't wait of course, feel free to check out my (linked) spotify playlists at the bottom of this post where you'll find them and a bunch of other great tracks Here's the whole top 40 list for the first week of July: 01 POOLCLVB x Røse - What You Want (Remix) [20-1] 02 Elohim - Half Love [28-15-1-1-1-2] 03 Deaf Havana - Sinner [34-18-4-3] 04 Troye Sivan - Bloom [25-4] 05 Nao - Another Lifetime [24-5] 06 Rainsford - Intentions [24-9-3-2-6] 07 Luis Fonsi ft. Hey Jupiter
04 Troye Sivan - Bloom [25-4] This is a bop! 10 JLo ft. DJ Khaled + Cardi B - Dinero [40-12-6-5-10] 19 Hayley Kiyoko ft. Kehlani - What I Need [39-13-10-15-X7-13-7-6-19] 21 Sia, Diplo & Labrinth - Audio [28-10-8-21] Loving this. 25 Anne-Marie - 2002 [31-27-17-16-15-25] 26 The Carters - Apeshit [29-26] 29 SOPHIE - It's Okay To Cry [39-29] 30 Selena Gomez - Back To You [N] This would have been good for her own album instead of as part of An OST. 35 Cheat Codes ft. Little Mix - Only You [N] I adore this. What a catchy song. Initially I couldn't stand it though lol. 36 Prides - On Our Own [18-7-6-5-21-36] 39 Jess Glynne - I'll Be There [N] This is her best song since Hold My Hand and she's had some amazing songs since then lol. Fantastic chart! |

Hey Jupiter,
As you’ve likely gathered by now I am back to doing my own weekly personal chart , yes it is the return of the Top 40 Countdown by awardinary. Part of my reasons for doing this was not only to express my enjoyment of music but also to give my opinions on what music others are currently enjoying too! With that in mind, let me share my opinion on your chart! My highlights from your chart at the moment are Sigala, Tom Walker, Martin Garrix, Cheat Codes and Jess Glynne. There are many songs I don’t know in your chart but I hope in future plug sessions I can discover them! Do you have a public playlist of your personal chart either on Apple Music, Spotify or YouTube? If so I would be interested in following it (if I don’t already!). Also I’d just like to add that it’s my privilege to be asked to be one quarter of the moderating team here in the personal charts forum, and just like the other 3, I want you to find me approachable too. I hope I can continue to make this forum an enjoyable experience for everyone! |

Hi Jupiter
The Selena Gomez & Cheat Codes/Little Mix tracks are my favourites from your chart, although Selena & LM have both done much better recently. The Sigala/Sean Paul/Fuse ODG/Kent Jones track seems like it's going to be a grower for me. It's also great to see River was a #1 here. That song seems to get far too much hate. Great chart |

Hi Jupiter!
A new #1 Just giving a listen now, quite a nice chill-out song! The original is a bit more punchy but quite nice nonetheless Still haven't heard the Fonsi/Stefflon collab so giving that a play now - a little disappointed but then again I've never been a massive fan of him... A bit late for Leave a Light On! What's just got you into it now? Great chart |

New entries!
Starting off this week three vaguely pop entries. Little Mix x Cheat Codes debuts quite low but will likely be a riser, LM have a strong record of top 20 peakers for me with only Move (#23) breaking that, and this is their first appearance since the chart-topping Power last summer. Jess Glynne's record is spottier, and this might be as high as the somewhat limp I'll Be There gets. On my personals she only has one #1 (Rather Be) instead of the record 7 she holds on the official charts for the UK. Selena is the most recent of the three to debut on my personals, first landing with Good For You (another 'You' title!) back in 2015. She's notched up three top tens, the latter is joined by Same Old Love (#9) and Wolves (#8). The next two acts see their first entries ever in this week's chart. Thanks to an ad I think? music channels have been hammering Leave A Light On and so I stared gettng into it and playlisted it too this last month. It wasn't until a while after though I realised it has quite dark lyrics! That cute hook is deceiving! Just Kiddin, an act I've been aware of for a while also see their chart debut here. They have some good remixes that I've playlisted before. Finally for the week, some new entries from acts well-established on my personals. Antonia, my BJSC entry from earlier this year in the spring, debuts with new entry Hotel Lounge, her second charter total. It's very different from Tango, but likely to be a riser nonetheless. The Preatures score another from their most recent album which is proving to be a long-running success, landing five entries now since spring 2017 including the chart-topping Something New. Yellow Claw continues a successful run of charters this year after several of being on my radar but never landing anything into the top 40, the Lil Debbie collab here being my fave of the times they've worked together. And of course, a collab between Sean Paul, who's had a very successful year on my charts, and Jhene Aiko who charts nearly everyting she releases, was always going to be a winner for me, charting here strongly in its first week of release, it's not many tracks that end up doing that. Next up, getting to your comments! So good to see so many of you back in the personals forum and contributing |

Fantastic chart! Thanks for such a detailed comment Only You definitely has higher to rise Hello Jupiter! Great to see "Calypso" and "If You're Over Me" in the top 10! Also nice debuts for "Leave A Light On", "Back To You", "Only You" and "I'll Be There"! Nice chart as always! Thanks for commenting Sergej! Appreciated Glad u like Hey Jupiter, As you’ve likely gathered by now I am back to doing my own weekly personal chart , yes it is the return of the Top 40 Countdown by awardinary. I hope I can continue to make this forum an enjoyable experience for everyone! Thanks Wardy! Nice to have you back As for playlists, the closest thing nowadays would be my A-List (Spotify) where everything I'm playing most this week can be found, lots of new songs from a mix of genres! But I could think about making one for the chart perhaps if you'd want one? Let me know Hi Jupiter The Selena Gomez & Cheat Codes/Little Mix tracks are my favourites from your chart, although Selena & LM have both done much better recently. The Sigala/Sean Paul/Fuse ODG/Kent Jones track seems like it's going to be a grower for me. It's also great to see River was a #1 here. That song seems to get far too much hate. Great chart Cheers Lewis! Agree about the Sigala. And River was great! Seemed an odd one for a lot of people to take against particularly people who liked Shape Of You! Baffling imo. Great chart Thanks Pete! I definitely prefer this one to the original but then I have a weakness for chill songs in the summer :') Fonsi/Stefflon is okay, catchy, but I was underwhelmed too. As for Leave A Light On, it's on music channels a lot so I hear it a lot at work! That's how I came across it. Did it get radio play first time round? I rarely listen to that mind. |
