Maybe you can relate to this, have there been weeks/months when you fell behind posting your personal chart? If so, how did you catch up again and continue your chart runs?

Have you got a system in place to ensure you have your personal chart ready a few days before you post it?

Discuss.

I never have, I've always been keen to update my personal chart.

Unless you count the few times I've (partially) frozen my chart because I've been on holiday.

I usually post my chart a day earlier than it’s dated, mainly so i do keep up to date and if I do ever forget/run out of time on Monday I have Tuesday to post it “on time”.

When I first started I forgot a few times and posted late (and even not at all which led to me having 3 different sets of charts). The first two incarnations of my chart don’t count towards my current charts history or anything because I couldn’t be bothered backtracking and it’s too late now tongue.gif

I have a gaping gap from about October 2017 to July 2018 when I didn’t post a personal chart, so my EOY’s will be all messed up again. I couldn’t motivate myself to fix this so I just started over again, but I did fall behind a week a couple of weeks ago and so I posted two personal charts last week to make up for it! tongue.gif

I hope that I can keep on top of it from now on!

Well I'm a week behind but at least it's consistently that. Maybe at some point I'll do a double. It was easier to keep up when I worked a much less intense job!

I've seen loads of Charts being posted weeks behind so like three or four in the same day sometimes. I will always comment on the newest one though.

Usually regarding my chart, in the whole time I've been here since 2013 I've posted my chart late once although sometimes I've posted it earky and decided to move my chart day. Now I just post my chart the day before its dated. Posted on a Sunday, Dated for Monday.

Good question. Yes, I used to fall way behind back when I did a handwritten chart prior to Buzzjack. I finally gave up around April 2013, then returned in 2014 by switching from a weekly to a monthly chart, which is much more manageable for me. I never did fill in the gaps from my chart history in 2013.

We’re living in the future wink.gif literally

I still don’t know why I decided to date my chart in the middle of the week though, Tuesday isn’t exactly the most conventional day laugh.gif It does mean this year my chart will fall on the 25th December though which is cool

I always post date my chart to be week ending the following Thursday, just like the official charts company do.

As for dating, I date mine on Friday even though it's been a while since I've changed from posting my chart from Friday to Thursday (just easier for me to do it on Thursday now).

I've never fallen behind on any of mine, which is quite impressive as I thought I'd keep this up for no more than a few weeks when I started at the very end of 2011 laugh.gif To still be going almost 7 years later is quite something, and I've never posted a chart late.

I date my charts for the Saturday that I post them on. I type it up in basic form in Word on a Friday night before formatting for Buzzjack on Saturdays (except when I know I'll have little time on a Saturday, so I'll do it on Friday instead)

Sometimes life events are too big to have the time to do a chart, or even listen to music, and in that case I "freeze" a chart and make it last for 2 2 weeks with chart points repeated for that week. Other than that I don't worry if I'm a day or 2 late with it. I prefer doing it Sundays, but it doesn't really matter as long as I dont have gaps. I hate gaps!

I once felt pressured to grow up and stop my obsessive charting for 3 months when I was 15 when we moved to a new area and school near Gloucester, and I immediately regretted it by the new year, and retro-created those missing charts based on what I still liked. Apart from a carry-over week where it's been unavoidable due to illness, holiday events or personal tragedies I've not stopped charting since my 16th birthday as I find it helped me cope with bad times, and enjoy good times more when I'm feeling upbeat. It's also a brilliant way of easily compartmentalising your life, and associating life events with music and charts, which reinforces both and keeps things from getting a bit hazy.

I still love doing charts and would utterly miss it if I stopped doing them. wub.gif

I don’t think I’ve ever completely missed a week (I think maybe once when i very first started) but I ALWAYS post it a few days late lmao, it’s supposed to be up on a Saturday, and it’s now Tuesday and I still haven’t done it yet whoops :’)
