Yes it’s good to get paid for sales but streaming is so dominant that it counts them out ten fold in terms of chart positions. I think paid downloads will linger on for a long time but streaming will surge from Christmas onwards - will be interesting to see how Madonna does with her comeback single and album but acts like Kylie, Madonna, Cher etc., basically have very limited chances of having a big hit unless they get a collab of some sort.

Usually top 20 on iTunes on the first day or two ensures that happens? (like with Robyn's 'Missing U' for instance, which even officially made the top 100 in the end).

The style is so different to her current stuff and I think BMG will want to focus on Kylie’s Golden album campaign until Christmas at least. It might get pushed next year when golden campaign is over though.

BuzzJack Legend Joined: 25 March 2007 Posts: 21,311 User: 3,155	I still think there is a chance that MOS will push WYWF as reported early next year, essentially his album is a flop (Opening week sales of less than 5k and that’s including the multiple tweets I’ve seen from Kylie fans who have bought the CD and vinyl as Kylie’s picture is included inside - including me ) so they could see it as an opportunity to push a new single and the album in the quieter months? It’s been mentioned before that Kylie’s team are the ones behind it’s delayed release as a single which would make sense as they want the Q4 focus on Golden.

I’ve heard of similar things in the past tbh - where a ‘big’ featured artist will basically have terms and conditions over the release (eg; has to be released as a single etc.,), Kylie’s team must have negotiated what they wanted when MOS and Sigala wanted to put the song on his album?

Kylie has all her promo slots or Golden during the rest of the year so the Sigala track will have to wait. She is busy with tour and no time go video etc. It will be a hit in January?
