Some interesting additions this week. Thought Little Mix might debut in the B-list but wasn't expecting it to go straight to A-list (their first song to do so). The addition of 'Funky Friday' was a given, but wasn't really expecting 'IDOL' to be playlisted. Also I'm quite liking 1999, didn't realise it was an official single!

I think Little Mix are only the 5th female artist to debut on A?
The others I can remember are: Adele - Hello Katy Perry - Chained to the Rhythm Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do Ariana Grande - No Tears Left to Cry |

They could’ve removed Calvin seeing as he’s most likely to get knocked off #1 today

YAY for Charli/Troye.
I think this has everything set up for it to be a future top 10. |

Not sure if you're only counting all-female lineups but if not then you can also have Taylor feat. Ed & Future with 'End Game', and the Zayn & Taylor collab. |

Wow at Little Mix and wow at BTS. Imagine if BTS had released a listenable track like 'I'm Fine' as their single...

great to see Dave, Charli and Jonas playlisted and MK moving up.
All the signs point to '1999' being big for Charli which would be great. Hopefully 'Polaroid' gets big for Jonas too, it's rather good. |

I'm no fan of Charli but '1999' is a really good song, hoping it can be a big hit and the early R1 playlisting is a good sign.
Pretty surprised at Little Mix launching on the A-List, I expected B-List but R1 clearly very much still all in for them! Not really sure what to make of this song from them but it's at least an improvement on 'Only You', and the awful lead singles from their last 2 albums. BTS suddenly getting a late addition as well! Good song but why the Nicki version xx Did R1 ever playlist 'Boo'd Up'? Good to see 'Trip' on there anyway, a better song imo and hopefully this will be the one to break her through here ~ |

Yeah Radio 1 did playlist Boo’d Up! If I remember correctly it got up to the B List But was taken off pretty quickly.
I do wonder if they will ever playlist Goodbye by Jason Derulo and David Guetta? I suppose it’s more unlikely now as that would make 3 songs on the playlist with Nicki Minaj on then. |

It wasnt until the very late 90s/early 00s that they made it more of a rare occurance, but even then you had acts like Madonna and Kylie that managed to do so |

This whole debuting on A List seemed to come into play since OS sales came into play. |
