I still really really like this, I wouldn’t call it a rip off of anything. I just find it doesn’t really go anywhere, I love the pre-chorus but the actual “woman like me” repeat feels like it should followed by a classic big Little Mix pop chorus or even something in the style of Hair. I’ve been playing it hoping I’d fall in love but it’s not happening

'Only You' is so good but it was only a single to keep their name out there a little bit and give radio something to wet their appetites a bit.
This is much more them I think. It's not like 'Move' has an obvious, big chorus. Also, I'm really not worried about their performance atm. What playlists have they had at the weekend? Any big ones/well positioned ones? (Barring Hot Hits) Friday night - Sunday morning people just want to hear the bangers they're familiar with for "pre drinks"/before they get ready for a night out (or in 'The Shallow' case, they've been to watch a huge film) They'll be back in Spotify top 10 soon enough and will start gaining on iTunes again, I'm quite sure of it. |

and a Jess Glynne reject, written by Ed Shitran featuring Nazi Garbaj that also happens to be a Side to Side ripoff with no actual chorus is better? What gives you the impression it's a Jess Glynne "reject"? Did she not just write this for another artist and passed the demo around?

What gives you the impression it's a Jess Glynne "reject"? Did she not just write this for another artist and passed the demo around? She confirmed it via a very shady capital interview (she was nice but you can tell she doesn't like other artists using her songs) that she wrote the song but didn't feel right for the album, so technically it is indeed a Jess Glynne reject. |

It actually seems like it was taken from her against her will and the "it didn't fit the album" is media training. She helped Steve Mac write it and recorded but the record label ended up selling it to Little Mix. She said it's a weird feeling because she was planning on having it as one of her main singles. She seemed a bit annoyed about it.

Yeah think it was going to be used for a future project but you can tell she was annoyed by it!

I'd be annoyed too if I was left with the absolute shite she's having to peddle for her album

Actually somewhat obsessed with Nicki's rap in this after initially hating it. I just wish it transitioned back into the chorus less awkwardly.

Their interview on Queen Radio (Nicki's radio show) is really cute and funny.
I lmao at Nicki saying she's "never gonna say 11:30 or 12:30 anymore and will only say half 11, half 12..." etc.. |

This is really beginning to free fall on iTunes now, and I’m genuinely surprised. But what I’ve heard from people (non mixers) is that the song is less discernible as a LM song, and just isn’t as in your face. So hopefully it will be a climber as it grows on people

It's a bit disappointing after the runaway success of SOTME, but I'm sure it'll be fine in the long run. A part of me does wonder why they didn't hold off a week and recycle SOTME's release strategy, with the XF performance on the Sunday and the MV dropping mid-week. It would have been an easy #1 for them.

It is a tad disappointing, but I still would not call it free falling. It really just does need some promo and a video to click with GP. Like I said before it’s the first time ever they’ve released a lead with 0 promo. They really should try and at least get the video out ASAP though!

Their performances and videos always have a huge boost though. The girls bring the songs to life. I agree with court, it's not "free falling" or "falling at a comical rate" the general public need to get used to it. The stans have it now, we just have to wait for the public to become more familiar with it. It's doing really well. Any other group would LOVE to have this success at this point in their careers. Y'all really need to stop panicking and start worrying if the video and performances have little effect.
5-9-11-11 for it's first 4 days on Spotify is strong. Especially as they weren't too high on the main playlists yet.. |

I haaateee the buzzword use of free-fall or even worse "falling at a comical rate" on here, free fall should only really be used for stuff like Christmas songs that just bomb right down after the day because obv people aren't buying them now. I know that sounds really pedantic but it bothers me It's hardly free falling for falling a few positions because the initial hype wears off and now Spotify etc needs to grow.

I prefer Only You too oops |

I'm actually quite impressed with its Spotify performance, especially off the back of Only You's disastrous first week, but I did expect more from iTunes. I think even Reggaeton Lento stayed at #1 longer. I agree that it's far too early to write it off though; I imagine their team will do everything in their power to turn this into a big hit, especially given that it's the only single leading the album. |
