V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

I'm not sure Staying at Tamaras can sell 500k needed over the coming Xmas period to break a million sales - although it'll be right in the sales mix throughout the period!

Yeah I'm unsure at this point. Would need to sell about 53k each week until the end of the year - I reckon it'll be able to sell well over that for a couple of weeks over the Christmas period but that might not be enough to make up for it currently selling under 10k.

Yeh from now it should increase as the new single campaign started last week but as you say it won't be until December for 3-4 weeks when it'll sell near 70-100k!

!Michael Myers!

The Soundtrack to 'Mamma Mia! 2' has sold no-where near as well as the Soundtrack to 'Mamma Mia! 1'.
The 1st Soundtrack is on over 1,500,000 UK Sales.

However, the 2nd Film has been huge in the UK. It is the UK's 14th 'All Time' Box Office success. The 1st
Film is a few places higher - No.11. So, the 2nd Film has far, far out-performed its Soundtrack.

As to why the 2nd Soundtrack has done relatively poorly, it is hard to tell. Some say that it is because it
has 5 Songs on it from the 1st Soundtrack. (Even though they are new recordings). Others say that it is
because it has a lot of ABBA Songs on it that are 'unknown' to many people.

What I do know is that 'The Greatest Showman' Film has not been anywhere near as big a UK Hit, as
either 'Mamma Mia!' Film. 'The Greatest Showman' has taken around £49 Million in the UK. Not even
enough to be in the 'All Time' UK Top 33. So its Soundtrack has been a lot bigger than the one for the
2nd 'Mamma Mia!', but the Film itself is far behind that 2nd Film...

Here are the UK's 'All Time' Box Office Films -- The List Is a Top 33:

It seems pretty obvious to me why the second soundtrack hasn't done as well as the first - they used all the songs that people know and are interested in with the first soundtrack, it's just not as commercially viable to sell a bunch of covers of lesser known songs.

Although I would have hoped for more sales for this album it is still in the charts and has outside many “big” artists’ Albums so I would never call this a flop

Exactly it’s outsold every artist album bar George Ezra released so far this year that’s hardly a flop laugh.gif
