Honestly Jark is so dead on. Theres barely a melody on this album & feels very “loud” but not in a good ‘salute’ way. I don’t see many singles here & can 100% see why Syco didnt want ‘Strip’ at the first single. If I were them, I’d push ‘Monster In Me’ out as a winter ballad & then ‘Forget You Not’ as a third single then go away, relisten to ‘get weird’ and go back to making bouncy, pop music. I’m all for female empowerment but this record deels very Beyoncé / Rihanna leftovers. Christ. Takes cues from 'Get Weird' i.e. the album that houses absolute monstrosities like 'Clued Up' and 'Weird People' (and the terminally dull acapellas)? It's legit their worst album and the exact direction they should steer clear from 7 years into their career. The 'lack of melodies' criticism is so lazy and just plain... unfounded. I can see why it would sort of apply to 'Joan of Arc', 'Strip' and 'Wasabi', but are we really going to pretend the likes of 'American Boy', 'Forget You Not', 'Think About Us', 'More Than Words', hell even 'Woman Like Me' don't have the memorable, sing-a-long choruses LM are known for? It really just feels like people are clutching at the slightest reasoning to discredit this album. See also: 'lack of cohesion' and 'too American'. They're all such flimsy criticisms. |

People can criticize the new album/single you know :') I was underwhelmed by what I'd heard so far but this isn't a bad album, definitely an improvement on the last one. Not sure I'll go back to a LOT of it though. Forget You Not |

People can criticize the new album/single you know :') Yeah... I'm aware. I don't think it's a flawless album by any means; the lyrics are still somewhat clunky and the production definitely lags in places, but claiming 'there's barely a melody' on the album when most of the songs are packed to the brim with hooks just seems absurd. Most of the tracks wouldn't even sound that out of place on their previous offerings, particularly 'Salute', so the 'budget Beyonce' angle seems like a bit of a hot take. |

The album hasn’t fully clicked with me yet. I like Think About Us, Monster in Me, The Cure, and More Than Words and could see these as a good future single. I am not feeling Joan of Arc or Strip. Both are just tuneless noise in my opinion and the whole female empowerment message is tired. But disappointed after the last 2 albums.

After 2 listens I'd say it's their second-best album after Salute.

I’d rather those two dud songs (i like WP TBH) than this clunky, melody-less record. I thought GD was a step down for them but this... i don’t even have the care to listen again. My fave is ‘monster in me’ & even then the clip made the song feel way more interesting than it is. Give me an album of Lightning, ADIDAS, Secrer Love Song, Black Magic, LMLY, Hair, Grown. God even listing these songs make me shudder to think of the new record. |

Make sure you tell them when you next see them 👍Also, did people really think that a highly promo'd album by Bublé wouldn't beat a less promoted album by LM? The last high profile televised performance was X Factor 3 weeks ago I'll be surprised if Bublé didn't get #1 tbh, even with the McIntyre performance from LM this weekend. They're coincidentally #1 on Apple Music, where they had the Apple music festival promotion. So that did it's job. I'm just intrigued to see sales. Anything over 60k and I'm happy. *sells 24k* |

Really strong on first listen! I was expecting another sweetener after the single/promo singles but this is so consistent on the whole. For me this lacks the highs of Get Weird or Glory Days in standouts but it's def consistent and a very strong album!
My ranking on 1st listen Love: 1. Only you (this'll def drop but I'm just so familiar with it) 2. Monster in me 3. The cure 4. Think about us 5. Womans world 6. Wasabi Really like: 7. Forget you not 8. More than words 9. Notice 10. The Cure (stripped) Like: 11. Woman like me 12. Strip 13. The national manthem Forgettable/filler-ish: 14. Told you so 15. Love a girl right 16. Motivate Hate: 17. American boy 18. Joan of arc |

Here's what I'd do as singles from now...
02. Think About Us > It's safe enough to get the stans they lost with WLM < [s]03. Monster In Me > Perform at The Brits and if it takes off stick with it and then move on to FYB < 03. Forget You Not > BGT finals/June < 04. Wasabi > Oct to tie in with tour < 05. The Cure > XF final < |

I'd probably opt for: [1) Woman Like Me] [2) Strip] 3) Forget You Not/Think About Us (I'd love both, but truthfully I can't see it happening since they're pretty similar) 4) Wasabi 'Monster In Me' is gorgeous and it'd be my next in line, but Wasabi, FYN and TAU are all smashes in the waiting and it'd be criminal to see any of them being denied a single spot. |

My only concern is - what if Strip flops hard and that changes their mind about Wasabi being a single cuz they are kinda similiar.
But I still have faith in Strip! |

Surprised Think About Us isn't their second single...I could see it doing it Touch and easily the best thing on this album
Strip on the other hand is awful and won't go down well with the GP |
