What's people's favourite Christmas indie hit??

Post them up and feel free to discuss smile.gif

I've started with The Wombats Is This Christmas a top 75 hit when released in December 2008 and Alisted on radio 1 at the time. It was Hottest Record for Zane Lowe on the 29/11/08!

Release date: 15/12/08
On CD/Download/vinyl
U.K. chart peak: 49

Ignoring the "hit" part of the question, this has long been a favourite...

Utterly bonkers, but great fun.

One of my favourite modern seasonal songs, was released aiming for Xmas no1 on Christmas chart week 2009!

They played this in ASDA the other night - I was so happy I was dancing in the aisles!

Low “Just Like Christmas” is the ultimate-
and I also love Mew's “She Came Home For Christmas”. I have an indie Christmas songs playlist on my iPod which I usually break out around now. : )

When I worked in Asda over Christmas, I heard that St Etienne track all the time. Thankfully now I can listen to it again and enjoy it. I'd also second "Just Like Christmas", it's so popular on 6music now around this period that whenever the ask for requests for Christmas songs to play, the specifically say that there's no need to ask for it.

Also really love "I Want An Alien For Christmas" by Fountains of Wayne -

Here are the ones which have been hits on my personal chart in the past 15 years or so...

Mew “She Came Home For Christmas”
The Water Babies “Under The Tree”
Frightened Rabbit “It's Christmas So We'll Stop”
Laura Marling “Goodbye England (Covered In Snow)”
Julian Casablancas “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”
The Darkness “Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)”
The Black Arts “Christmas Number One”
Los Campesinos! “When Christmas Comes”
!!! (Chk, Chk, Chk) “And Anyway It's Christmas”
The Raveonettes “The Christmas Song”
The Wombats “Is This Christmas?”
Orbital “Christmas Chime”
Smith & Burrows “When The Thames Froze”
Coldplay “Christmas Lights”
The Futureheads “Christmas Was Better In The 80s”
Emmy The Great & Tim Wheeler “Home for the Holidays”
Hurts “All I Want For Christmas Is New Years Day”
Dawn McCarthy & Bonnie "Prince" Billy "Christmas Eve Can Kill You”
Loose Tapestries “Can't Wait For Christmas”
Marching Church “Christmas On Earth”

The Loose Tapestries is itself an underrated CLASSIC.

The Killers - Boots

To be fair most of their Christmas songs were great, but 'Boots' is my ultimate favourite. Shame they've stopped doing them.

Coldplay Christmas Lights probably one of my favourite modern Christmas classics, Chris Martins voice is just so brillant. Peaked at 13 in the UK with strong support by radio although it's midweek release meant it never charted in the top 10!
