Scars and Ground Running are destined to become fan favourites.
Can’t wait for this album even more after reading that GT’s interview |

Wise decision! It's a very competitive week. He'd be Top 10 at most, that for a artist whose every studio album has charted within the Top 2 would be a failure.

Other albums which could be competition on June 21st are Mark Ronson, Chris Brown (ugh) and The Raconteurs.
As well as albums holding on from the previous weeks. |

Will is at a much different stage in his career, signed to an independent label and has no management company. His only radio support is radio 2 and I’m not sure if he’ll do any tv promo. He’s released this album to give him a platform to tour and has said he has hopes but no expectations. I’m sure it will be a quality album and hope the reviews reflect that. |

Plus I think at the end of the day - chart positions really mean nothing. Most fans aren't aware of them.
As long as the albums and tours sell well, that's a success. |

Plus he has also been away for a very long time, 5 years is a lifetime in pop music.
I don't think he's as bothered these days about that sort of thing though, it sounds like he's made the album he wanted to make rather than trying to attain commercial success. |

I’m sure it will be a quality album and hope the reviews reflect that. I'm not not sure i entirely believe that. I can think the only reason this has been put back by one week is to avoid a chart battle with Madonna for No.1. They do care about the chart position. A No.1 album on the UK Albums Chart would be a good feat for him to promote with and wouldn't be something i'd rule out as impossible - i mean pretty much all 85% Proof had going for it was that it gone to No.1. I highly doubt come June he won't doing any tv promo....i see him promoting it definitely. Cooking Vinyl isn't a major label, so i understand the sales expectations are lower....i think he'll easily sell enough to keep them happy which is good...it'll give him a stable and consistent home for his music for the next stage of his career and unlike the juggernaut Universal Island who weren't content with 80k album sales it's more suited, i wouldn't however do it down as a completely independent label either, i'd say it's somewhere in the middle - their roaster includes Groove Armada, Alison Moyet, Lucy Spraggan, Maximo Park, Marilyn Manson, Nina Nesbitt, Passenger, Starsailor, The Cranberries, The Darkness, The Proclaimers and TLC. I imagine they are more encouraging and allow greater creativity than a major label hence the acts they have signed... This post has been edited by sajjadali: 9th May 2019, 10:41 AM |

June 21st is just as competitive — there could be other reasons for the delay. Him not charting within the top 2, on a smaller label, after a break of five years, at this stage in his career, is fine. I'm sure both he and his label are aware of that. Top 10 in 2019 would be a big success. This post has been edited by blacksquare: 9th May 2019, 10:48 AM |

It’s confirmed here and on his own website store.
https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/a...in-2019__25170/ Although it’s 4 not 5 years since his last album, I agree with everything else you say blacksquare. This post has been edited by truly talented: 9th May 2019, 01:11 PM |

I assume they will claim it’s down to production issues. No official email from Will Young.co.uk has been received yet and the date change hasn’t been updated on his website but it has on the Store and all streaming services.
Watch this space! Update: The album covers are being signed, does this mean they have the covers or the album also. This post has been edited by dazzey1983: 9th May 2019, 05:04 PM |

I meant confirmation that it was being delayed to avoid a chart battle with Madonna. It's more likely that there has been an issue with vinyl pressings or they have been offered a promotion slot after the original release date etc. |

They need to treat us to some teasers or a free track to compensate for the delay

Will shot the video for his 2nd single, My Love yesterday on Worthing Pier. Sounds like another upbeat track.
