V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

Ariana Grande wont even be top 5 in a couple of months. I maintain my stance she underperforms given the hype.

I'd say the album has performed well considering she's never been that much of an album seller, but I do think 7 Rings and Break Up... didn't really stick around as well as the initial hype would suggest. Particulary once they hit ACR as most big hits can stick around despite it, but Break Up... in particular didn't hang around for very long at all.

But saying she has never been much of an album seller is like saying she underperforms always so we should judge her by that not by the amount of hype, streaming exposure, radio play etc she gets.

Her main issue is the music just isn't that good, she has everything else going for her it is just the actual quality of her output in general disappoints. Songs charting big and falling fast says to me people were willing to give the songs a chance but moved on quickly as the songs just weren't that great.

For an artist who has never had a double platinum album (due to being foreign artist in the streaming era), she is doing great with both TUN and Sweetener reaching platinum status eventually.

With the huge single success Ariana has achieved i really thought her albums would sell more.

yes but artists that sell singles usually don't sell albums
and she's lucky that shes getting lots of streaming points, pretty sure her pure sales must be very poor

What? Big artists sell loads of 'singles' and albums. George Ezra and Lewis Capaldi are written right there in the opening post.

Little mix were selling loads of both too until this last era.
