I had a very lengthy chat with some friends yesterday about the impact that Gaga has had on my life. It is without exxageration that I say, that I would not be the person I am today if it was not for her. So the question is, what has Gaga taught you, what has she meant for you, how has she impacted you over the years?

Tissues at the ready guys ~

When Gaga revealed the title of 'Born This Way' at the VMAs my journey of self-discovery began. Over the months before the single was released I cried more tears than ever before. When she leaked the song's lyrics the day before the actual song, I read the lyrics in bed and weeped. When the song premiered, I weeped uncontrollably. She helped me realise who I was and how who I was, was perfectly fine. This led into my discovery and acceptance of my sexuality and I have not looked back since.

Also more recently, A Star Is Born, the film and soundtrack, have been a centrepoint for my relationship with my now fiance. It was hearing Shallow last Summer after a bit of a disagreement with him that I realised he was the one and life was too short to miss the opportunity that he provided for me. He revealed yesterday it was because of this film that he too realised he loved me when he saw me belting out a song from it. Now, 'Is That Alright?' seems to perfectly represent my relationship with him. "It felt like summer when you kissed me in the rain" - this lyric is particularly poingnant because the first night we met, it was pouring with rain as we made out blush.gif The song could well be our first dance song at our wedding, we have agreed yesterday. Growing old together, dying together.

Her music has empowered me in unimaginable ways. I owe her my life.

I'll obviously come back to this and go more in-depth but her music (especially Born This Way the album) has been the soundtrack to some of the most memorable moments in my life and I'll forever be thankful to her for that.

When I first heard Just Dance, I was like... cute song and a great singer. Her personality didn't really strike through with that. But then, single after single I was more intrigued about her and must say that the VMA performance of Paparazzi made me a huge fan.

I have loved everything she does since then, more or less. I mean there are not-so-great moments musically but somehow her vision, personality and overall KINDNESS never cease to amaze me. She's one of the most wonderful human beings on earth, even without never meeting her in person obviously, and I am always proud to say I'm a fan of hers.

Now if I think what she has done to me, I don't think there's a certain point but the whole Little Monsters fandom thing going on and stuff like that makes me feel like I belong to somewhere and makes me attached to something deeper. Dunno.

I was similar with Just Dance, but I think falling in love with Poker Face made me the stan I am. The rest was history!

Being a Little Monster has helped me in dark times in the past. Forever a stan sob.gif
