So I saw Kylie (and Melanie C) at Pride I’m Brighton yesterday. What a fab day and evening absolutely brilliant! Made me think if Spice Girls are doing Glastonbury next year (fingers crossed) then they really should follow Kylie’s lead and do Brighton Pride too! It was such an amazing atmosphere and it would suit a Spice Girls show to the ground! Would be really nice for them to show the support for the LGBTQ community too.
I’m also hoping Steps perform next year as they are due to release an album apparently but that’s another matter lol! |

GOD PLEASE NO.
Brighton Pride is so horrible, and it would be a total downgrade for them and they don't need to 'show appreciation to the LGBT community', they have always done so - have you seen the Spice World 2019 tour? Full of LGBTQ+ representation and celebration. Plus, Kylie is a legend sure, but she is not on their league - she wouldnt be able to pack stadiums across the UK nor would she do a massive sold out tour like the 2007/2008 one. I live in Brighton and organise a queer and trans street party at the Marlborough pub during Pride, which always sells out, precisely because people of colour, migrants, queer and trans people are not welcome at Brighton Pride in general. No pride at all in exclusion, which is what Brighton pride does (even if not intentionally). |

I will have to check the biggest selling list as it's ppssible Kylie is ahead of them actually. Well if Brighton Pride is too small, then they could do London's?

Kylie is probably head of them sales wise, but she has released a ton of music over 3 decades, whilst they havent. She is still incredibly popular, but she is not on the same level as the Spice Girls.
And actually comparing the two is a bit of a disservice to Kylie, as she is obviously amazing. But she is no longer the so called pop princess people used to call her back in her hey day. |

Let’s be honest spice girls did well because of nostalgia and the greatest hits. If they released a new album and toured with that they wouldn’t be able to fill any stadiums |

I think a big Pride event would be brilliant for them and perfect for the Spice ethos! I'd love to see it, and I'm sure they'd all be up for it.
re. Kylie, I definitely think she could sell our stadiums with a hits tour. The difference between Kylie and the Spice Girls is that Kylie tours reasonably regularly. If people don't see her on her current tour, they can go to the next one instead. With the Spice Girls, this tour could easily have been their last, and it was their first in what, 11 or 12 years? People grabbed the chance while they could, mixed with the nostalgia factor too. If Kylie didn't tour for 10 years and came back with a huge hits tour, she'd easily sell out stadiums - bear in mind P!nk sold out Wembley Stadium twice this year also! |

Also there was a section of the video about LGBTQ+ across the world about the fact that LGBTQ+ people of colour face more discrimination than any other group in the world... It’s a real shame if it is exclusive and that’s quite upset me as I thought it was such a wonderful event yesterday I totally loved it. Ps Kylie is seen as much more of a legend than Spice Girls in the U.K. tbh. She has continued to sell records which the spice girls didn’t and she could sell out a stadium tour if she only did 13 dates and didn’t tour every other year... |

I agree with SB and JonasStyles. The thing you have to remember is that the Spice Girls were never really that big anyway. They were big for a girlband, but that's about it. As Jay says, big for what they were, but Madonna's wev wasn't sweating! Kylie is a bigger act than them.

Kylie's been big over a huge span of 30 years (with peaks and troughs of course), while the Spice Girls probably peaked higher over a shorter space of time...! I don't think anyone can deny that they were truly massive, it was just confined to a few years instead of 30 for Kylie.

Spice Girls weren’t really that big Their debut album was the biggest selling debut album of all time when it was released a record it held for 3/4 years until Britney overtook it with BOMT... Kylie doesn’t have an album or a single that sold anywhere near what Spice and Spiceworld sold on a worldwide scale or on a USA scale... Kylie is seen as more legendary in the U.K. because of her 31 years of constant success but that doesn’t take away that the Spice Girls were a phenomenon of the likes which Kylie for all her status never reached. On a worldwide scale the Spice Girls piss all over Kylie America alone does that, then there’s Canada and the biggest selling English spoken album in Spain, the movie... |

It's incredibly exclusive, although of course you have some members of those communities attending. Migrants and People of Colour, specifically of low economical backgrounds are continuously harrassed and prevented from participating. This has been happening from years, not only in Brighton but also in the London and Manchester Prides. It is the main reason why in London now there are two separate events for those communities: Black Pride (which is the day after and exclusively for people of colour and their allys) and Trans Pride (which friends of mine organise). Pride has not been kind to those communities for a long time. Just this year there were multiple reports about how the organisers of pride allowed transphobic groups into the march. And LGBTQ+ charities and support groups being denied participation in favour of multi-national brands like British Airways, Sainsbury's and McDonalld's presenting their brands. It's disgusting. Furthermore, trans people are constantly harrassed at Pride by other people attending. This is well documented. We are constantly throwing people out of our street party for inapropriate behaviour. Just last night, we through a bunch of lads out of our party because they kept trying to touch a trans non-binary person's genitals 'for fun'. And these are quite british men. Pride has sucked for a long time, unless you are middle to upper-class white gay man. Everyone else is simply 'tolerated' and the organisers keep denying responsibility of keeping people safe. Blargh! Anyway, rant over. Kylie's been big over a huge span of 30 years (with peaks and troughs of course), while the Spice Girls probably peaked higher over a shorter space of time...! I don't think anyone can deny that they were truly massive, it was just confined to a few years instead of 30 for Kylie. Exactly. |

They were beaten by Wesshite, and have been outsold even by Pink, and even 1D had higher grossing tours, etc. They were big for a girlband. |

Please let's not make this a competition because actually, Spice Girls were on the level of Madonna and the Beatles before they broke up. Simple as that. Everyone else that has been mentioned here managed to sell more than the girls for one reason: longevity.
And so what that 1D had higher grossing tours? As far as we know, the Spice Girls only finished one full world tour - in 1998. They would have done much more if they had actually done a world tour in 2007/2008 and this year. Did Pink or Westlife create a cultural movement beyond their music? Sorry but they havent. So please lets chill with the comparissons. |

On a good, much better note, last night in Brighton our own Mel C threw support behind the trans and non-binary community: Mel C movingly expresses her support for trans rights at Brighton Pride such an amazing ally! |

I don’t blame you ranting is be the same had I known! |
