Decent winner (that sounds better now I listen to it, it was one of those that was fading into the crowd on my listen ) though I must admit I would have preferred Fiona Walden. But then I got a 20 from the winning poster so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much, thanks Frank & my other high voters, you supported me to a great position - for unsolicited j-rock that is.
Excellent hosting Blacksquare, really enjoyable to read through! |

Wow, I did not expect this
I'm really happy that 'Panama' found quite a lot of fans, I planned to send it a while ago but I was going for mid-table (as usual), I never thought that I had a winner/top 5 on my hand. Btw. the Austran FM4 chart is a real thing, I find half my UP entries here (I found Mapache here, too) Great hosting blacksquare, I think I would've pissed myself if I stayed up till the end, but it was still an enjoyable read in the morning. |

Ooh, congrats Frank! Thanks blacksquare for hosting, you did a wonderful job and made the presentation your own which was really enjoyable. Apols for missing the live reveal, I intended to follow along at work only to forget that I had the day off, so it slipped my mind.
Despite placing as low as I expected with my entry, I was pleased to get a few points from several posters, and especially the big points from Frank and Jupiter. Thanks to everyone who gave it points! Wasn't expecting Elísabet to place even lower after giving it my 20, for shame. At least Thylacine did well to make up for it (Y) |

Yes! I forgot to say thank you to everyone who responded to that message about their entries — so many thoughtful comments.
It's always been something I have wanted to know during these competitions. It's nice to know whether there is a real love for a song (much like Dandy* with 'Bol') or whether it's a strategic choice, or something someone really wants people to hear, etc. |

Thylacine really soaking up points from people who very rarely vote for my songs, was this really that different to my usual entries? (Thanks John!) Welcome! You don't always go for melody in your entries, and melody is my weak-at-the-knees achilles heel Versailles is lovely and unusual and my faves of yours tend to be those ones - or the out-there entries! |

Iz comes through with the 'obviously Iz' entry just when we least suspect it. (Maybe). Really liked this one though, the last thing I expected from a Japanese entry was for it to sound like something straight out of a Frank CD Swap! Poor brave 'Bol'. Yes no Iz surprises there, it was the only entry I was certain of I liked it and also poor brave Bol Different is good! |

I was getting tired so went to bed shortly before the finale, but congrats to Frank for winning! (first I was typing 'thank you for winning' ) I had that in my votes and everything, pleased with that.
Looks like I ended up right in the middle of the board in the end! No 20s again but thank u to anyone who supported it. That EP is one of the coolest discoveries I've had this year (although it's from 2017 I think). 21-01-18-16-13-36-13 Finally, big thanks to blacksquare, I super enjoyed your hosting! |

fab hosting blacksquare! well done Frank! good to see my fave entry at 2! 8 is a fab position for tortoise thanks to all for the votes esp the 20 from Dobbo - I also seem to do best with instrumentals in UP - my previous best was 2, beaten off by Leww I think (who else is so utterly consistently a winner!) and I hosted - now that was stressful so I appreciate how smooth other folk make it seem
