12th. Do What U Want = 12votes




Welcome to Round 13 of Lady Gaga's Least Favourite single polls, and we say goodbye to another era namely 'Artpop', with its last remaining track 'Do What U Want' makes a sharp exit with a whopping 12 votes and finishing at the half-way mark. I do find that this is largely defined by unfounded accusations of commercial disaster, the 'Artpop' era is probably one of Gaga's most interesting periods of her professional life. Despite being chosen over original choice 'Venus' due to its popularity at the time, however this never got its fair shake, despite being of her most radio friendly bops. The controversy surrounding it was the main factor why this never got to reach its full potential with the video being pulled and the problematic feature with R Kelly (the less said about that the better), and in the end it ended up tanking the album campaign, which was a real shame and all that aside this song is pretty great, pulsing with throbbing electronic beats, an epic set of funky verses and a brilliant soaring chorus and dare I say it remains one of her best unsung highlights in Gaga's discography.



For the 4th time overall 'Judas' gets saved yet again, with the 2nd highest amount of votes with 8 (I have a feeling its luck is about to run out). 'Born This Way' & 'Shallow' both score 3 votes each. 'Just Dance', 'Bad Romance', 'The Edge of Glory' each gain a vote each as well as 'Alejandro' which finally gets a vote for the first time in this poll.
