QUOTE
The final 5 categories do not have any nominations, you simply need to tell me who you would give the award too. If you'd like to expand on these with some commentary that would be lovely for me to use in the final presentation, though this is not compulsory!

COUNTRY OF THE DECADE
Which competing country of the 2010s summed up the decade for you? It could be the one who had a ton of entries you loved, a country that improved the most, or even a country you feel was underrated in the results most of the decade.

CONTEST OF THE DECADE
Which of the 10 contests was the one? Take everything into consideration; hosts, stage, the voting, the slogan, the logo, everything. Did you attend this contest in person? Was it your first year watching, or indeed your first year getting up in arms over the results of the Moldovan national selection?

ARTIST OF THE DECADE
Which artist do you think of when it comes to the last 10 Eurovision's? Perhaps they made a statement to the world. Or you have a personal connection to said artist? Whether they were a winner or came stone dead last in the semis.

SONG OF THE DECADE
I know we just sort of did this, but it felt wrong to leave it out. Besides, your absolute number 1 entry might not have made it to the finals of Buzzvision: All Stars!

MOMENT OF THE DECADE
A hard one to describe. Basically anything you consider to be a moment. Or more specifically, the moment. It could have happened during a performance, an interval, the voting and so on. Was it Jon Ola Sand's deer in the headlights look every year? Was it Salvador having to give the trophy to Netta? Was it one of the stage invasions? Was it Sanna Nielsen charting in the UK top 40 with her entry? The possibilities are endless here, so have a good think!

Let's wrap this shitter up with the results! 8 voters in the end but let's crack on with the crème de la crème of the 2010s!

LILL LINDFORS AWARD FOR BEST HOST

1st. Petra Mede (2013 & 2016) - 7 votes
2nd. Filomena Cautela (2018) - 1 vote

So a predictable landslide for Petra who hosted both the Swedish contests as well as the UK's 60th anniversary show. Christer Bjorkman was noted as saying Petra was their number 1 choice for host after her stint at Melodifestivalen 2009.

RIVERDANCE AWARD FOR BEST INTERVAL ACT

1st. Love Love Peace Peace (2016) - 7 votes
2nd. Switch Song (2019) - 1 vote

Well it's another near clean sweep for 2016. This Kempe delight of a scientifically perfect Eurovision song of how love and peace and definitely not war wins Eurovision, so it was somewhat ironic that '1944' would take the gold about 45 minutes after! A honorable mention to Switch Song which was my runner-up and a superb effort from Israel.

BJÖRN GUSTAFSSON AWARD FOR BEST SPOKESPERSON

1st. Lee Lin Chin (Australia) - 3 votes
2nd. Lynda Woodruff (Sweden) and Nigella Lawson (United Kingdom) - 2 votes
4th. Élodie Gossuin (France) - 1 vote

Perhaps Australia's greatest contribution to Eurovision? Legend and icon Lee Lin Chin narrowly takes this round and it's high time she was reinstated, I hope the Jon Ola 2.0 adds it to their contract.

DANNY SAUCEDO AWARD FOR BEST RUNNER-UP

1st. Dami Im - Sound Of Silence (Australia 2016) & Eleni Foureira - Fuego (Cyprus 2018) - 3 votes
2nd. The Common Linnets - Calm After The Storm (The Netherlands 2014) & Polina Gagarina - A Million Voices (Russia 2015) - 1 vote

I thought this category would be close between these two so how fitting it's a tie! Both Dami and Eleni have gone on to cement themselves as Buzzfaves since their respective contests.

JEMINI MEMORIAL AWARD FOR MOST DESERVING LAST PLACED ENTRY

1st. Manel Navarro - Do It For Your Lover (Spain 2017) - 3 votes
2nd. Josh Dubovie - That Sounds Good To Me (United Kingdom 2010) - 2 votes
3rd. Ann Sophie - Black Smoke (Germany 2015), Claudia Pascoal - O Jardim (Portugal 2018) & Michael Rice - Bigger Than Us (United Kingdom 2019) - 1 vote

I can see how this won as the live perf was indeed horrific but guys, were you all still in the womb when the BBC dug up Pete Waterman for that 2010 abomination?? Genuinely the UK's worst effort in a decade that also birthed Electro Velvet.

KATE RYAN AWARD FOR MOST ROBBED QUALIFIER

1st. Koit Toome & Laura - Verona (Estonia 2017) - 4 votes
2nd. Greta Salóme - Hear Them Calling (Iceland 2016) - 2 votes
3rd. Sofi Marinova - Love Unlimited (Bulgaria 2012) & Suzy - Quero Ser Tua (Portugal 2014) - 1 vote

f*** the juries.

VALENTINA MONETTA ENTRY OF THE DECADE

1st. The Social Network Song (Oh-Oh - Uh - Oh-Oh) - 4 votes
2nd. Crisalide (Vola) - 3 votes
3rd. Spirit Of The Night (ft. Jimmie Wilson) - 1 vote

Sad that Val's only qualifier is the one entry to not receive a single vote in this most important category!

WELL, the public do get it very wrong when it comes to Val's entries. The two with the better results are both bores compared to the Social Network Song and Spirit of the Night - I swear people must only like them because of how much of an icon she cemented herself as on the first go-round x

COUNTRY OF THE DECADE

1st. Sweden - 4 votes
2nd. The Netherlands - 2 votes
3rd. Australia & France - 1 vote

cantthinkofaname I mean they won twice, they sent iconic entry after iconic entry even if they were a bit heavy on the testosterone. Melodifestivalen is iconic, best hosts, best contest, some of the best entries, best results, etc. It's a basic answer and very unsurprising if Sweden wins but they deserve it.

Klumpkin dominated and rightly so! The most consistent in song quality and performance. Azerbaijan would've been a close second but they've tailled off towards the end of the decade.

Campbell In terms of consistency and quality, Sweden are always right up there. Melodifestivalen takes the selection process and elevates it to a level many other countries can only aspire to. Every year there are multiple songs that could represent Sweden and do well which is testament to their slick and professional selection process.

CONTEST OF THE DECADE

1st. 2016 - 5 votes
2nd. 2012, 2013 & 2018 - 1 vote

cantthinkofaname Even though Iceland was robbed in 2016 it's still my fav contest. The hosts were great, the new way of showing results was exciting, the Grand Final was PACKED with iconic songs, the winner, runner-up and second runner-up were all very deserving. The interval act, the parade of flags, everything was iconic. Only thing we could have done without was Justin Timberlake lol.

Jahq 2016 without a doubt. Of course this one had to be a Swedish hosted one! A rare time when the hosts are genuinely fantastic, they got involved with the best interval performance of the decade and what a brilliant mix of songs. I also very much approve of the change to the voting/results that was made in this contest (though not necessarily to the change made in 2019), and how exciting was it seeing everything change at the last moment for Ukraine to win.

Campbell This was an outstanding year that had everything. From the amazing hosting skills of Petra and Mans, to an outstanding interval act in Love Love Peace Peace, to a nailbiting voting reveal, it had it all. Some brilliant music too, particularly in terms of variety. I still wish Dami Im had won though... *

ARTIST OF THE DECADE

1st. Valentina Monetta - 3 votes
2nd. Loreen - 2 votes
3rd. Dami Im, Jamala & Poli Genova - 1 vote

Klumpkin Valentina Monetta of course heart.gif

Campbell This is difficult as there's not one specific artist who defines the decade. There are so many amazing singers, songs and performances from over the last 10 years. However, for sheer perseverance and for never giving up, I'm choosing Valentina Monetta.

AdamAloud A true Eurovision legend, the roar from the crowd when she qualified from 2014 is a special moment.

SONG OF THE DECADE

1st. Euphoria - 5 votes
2nd. Satellite, I Feed You My Love & My Friend - 1 vote

cantthinkofaname It's hard for me not to choose Loreen for both of these because no other ESC artist has had the impact that she has on me. Heal is one of my favorite albums of all time and Euphoria is one of my favorite songs of all time. She was amazing live and she really brought Eurovision to another level single-handedly for me. I will always love her and what she stands for in ESC history.

Klumpkin Euphoria is the one! Second most played song of mine of all time!

AdamAloud Her perf at Het grote songfestivalfeest sums up this banger and how it defined the decade at Eurovision.

MOMENT OF THE DECADE

1st. Conchita Wurst winning/winners speech - 3 votes

Jahq I may not have been that fussed about "Rise Like a Phoenix" prior to the live shows, but as many of us Eurostans are part of the LGBT community, how much of a moment was Conchita's victory and seeing her get so many points from Eastern Europe. It felt like much more than just a song winning a song contest. And how incredible was the 2014 voting, seeing Austria and The Netherlands right up at the top of the board, who would've imagined.

Iz nothing was emotionally stronger than this triumph over adversity

AdamAloud Before Copenhagen I was convinced Molly had this in the bag. But during those 2 weeks something magical happened and Conchita's victory became somewhat inevitable, yet you still couldn't quite believe it would actually happen. A real moment for the history books.

Other mentions
Dami Im's live vox Cameron

Hatari qualifying in Israel cantthinkofaname This one is special to me because I am from the same country as Hatari and everything about this entry was controversial from the get-go but I couldn't not want to follow their journey. They were hilarious in interviews and while I don't necessarily agree with their message I found everything about this so interesting and them getting to the final in Tel Aviv was such a moment. It was the first time in 4 years that we qualified and seeing whether they would actually protest or if the hosts would sabotage their entry was so exciting to see. The answer was yes to both and the end result was epic glorious chaos. THIS is why I love Eurovision.

Euphoria charting in the UK Klumpkin

SuRie's stage invasion Jonjo

Australia debuting Campbell Australia's first participation in the contest. The fact that, as a nation, they have shown so much love for the contest for such a long time is wonderful. Being extended an invitation to take part for the 60th anniversary contest brought us a real contender in Guy Sebastian with the fantastic Tonight Again. To witness the way in which Australia took its entry in the contest so seriously and produced something of such great quality, paved the way for Australia's participation in subsequent contests, which has created some real magic moments!

2016 is a good pick for best contest, certainly the best winner though I didn't find a way to express that properly in my votes, I nearly went for that.

SCREAMING that someone (I assume Iz) went for “My Friend” as Song of the Decade. Not far from the truth x

I’m glad that others recognised the Conchita victory as the moment of the decade, and someone else picked the Netherlands for country of the decade (really can’t argue with Sweden (or any of these winners), but I thought the Dutch deserved a mention for the amazing turnaround they managed to achieve)
