Rambo: Last Blood 3. It/It: Chapter Two 4. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 5. Spider-Man: Far From Home 6. Rambo: First Blood & Last Blood 7. Angel Has Fallen 8. Bad Boys/Bad Boys II 9. Blade Runner 2049 Other New Entries - 33. The Beyond (1981), 39. Holiday (1930), 49. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Set 2: Stardust Crusaders, Pt. 1, 50. The League Of Gentlemen (1960), 90. JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Set 1, 98. Seance On A Wet Afternoon (1964). Angel Has Fallen's monster run at #1 is over and we, unsurprisingly, get out first new number one of the decade with 'It: Chapter Two'. However what is a shock is that it gets pipped to the top spot by Rambo: Last Blood in the DVD chart (#2 overall). The double-pack of It also comes out on top, opening at #3 compared to Rambo's #7. Pain And Glory (#33) uses its Oscar nomination from last week to enter in the top 40. The Farewell was also expected to get a major acting nomination, with Awkwafina looking good for a best actress nom. Alas this never came which might be why it can only debut at #52. The film is about a Chinese-American woman who goes home to visit her unknowingly ill grandmother under the guise of a wedding. It is another partly self-autobiographical tale, this time from director Lulu Wang. The Scorpion King: Book Of Souls (#35) is the 5th film in the franchise which once starred The Rock and Dave Bautista but now stars Zach McGowan. Sword Of God (#45) is a 2018 Polish film originally titled 'The Mute' set in the Middle Ages and follows 2 men who move to a pagan land. One of them tries to convert the locals to Christianity with apparent violent consequences. 24 Hours In London (#47) is the week's revenge flick. A convict is released from prison and goes on a 24-hour massacre but a struck-off detective believes there to be more to the story. The Trench (#91) is an 1999 war film which has been re-released as it features some now very bankable stars amongst its cast. IMDb will tell you that Paul Nichols is the highest-billed actor in the cast but the 2020 DVD case shows Daniel Craig & Cillian Murphy very prominently with Ben Whishaw & Danny Dyer also getting name-checked on the cover. This week's TV entries include Thomas & Friends (#85) & Krypton (#88). |

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw Stats Highest not in combined top 40 - 17. Twin Peaks: From Z To A (N/A) Highest not in top 100 - 17. Twin Peaks: From Z To A Other New Entries - 17. Twin Peaks: From Z To A, 20. Formula 1: The Official Review 2019, 56. Cosh Boy (1953), 80. Cells At Work: Complete Collection We have a surprise #1 as Rambo does enough to overtake It to the top spot, despite the top 2 remaining motionless in both the DVD & Blu Ray charts. The closest challenger this week was Hustlers (#3). Based on a 2015 New York Magazine article, the film was expected to bring about an Oscar nomination for Jennifer Lopez which shockingly didn't happen. I still haven't seen this yet but it's top of my to-watch list. Mrs Lowry & Son (#6) is about famed artist LS Lowry and his complicated relationship with his mother. It stars Vanessa Redgrave & Timothy Spall. Jay & Silent Bob Reboot unfortunately just misses the top 10 at #11. It is Kevin Smith's first movie since his heart-attack and his first entry into his Clerks movie universe (that predates the MCU) since 2006's Clerks II or 2013's animated Jay & Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie. The film is essentially a remake of 2001's 'Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back' and features cameos-a-plenty. It's good to have you back Kevin! Running With The Devil (#27) is a straight-to-DVD film staring the king of such films, Nicholas Cage. His 2nd chart entry of the year all ready! It appears to be Bad Boys but with Cage & Laurence Fishburne which sells it for me. Bait (#32) is one of the most acclaimed-British films of recent times and is about tensions between locals and tourists in Cornwall. One-time Oscar hopeful turned box office and critical disaster, The Goldfinch scrapes the top 40 at #36. Based on the very popular book it flopped despite a very solid cast. The Krays: Mad Axeman enters one-place behind at #37. The film is about a real-life criminal named Frank Mitchell (Phil & Grant's brother?) who the Krays helped escape Dartmoor Prison and his fight for parole. Break (#44) is a Russian horror film about 5 people who go to a party atop a mountain and get stuck in a gondola lift. Made In Auschwitz (#51) is a documentary about women who were experimented on by Nazi Carl Clauberg to try and find a way to sterilise them. The Kitchen (#57) is another one-time Oscar hopeful that got a terrible reception once it was released. Based on a comic and staring Melissa McCarthy & Tiffany Haddish in serious roles with a first-time director. It didn't ever stand much of a chance, did it? The Head Hunter (#83) is a 2018 Russian horror film about a man whose hobby is collecting the decapitated heads of monsters and his quest for one final trophy: the head of the monster which killed his daughter. This week's only TV entries is WWE (#60). This post has been edited by LewisGT: 2nd February 2020, 01:43 PM |

Saga Of Tanya The Evil: The Complete Series, 50. Cloak And Dagger (1946), 53. Paranoia (1969), 68. The Good Place: Season Three, 74. Sansho The Bailiff (1954), 84. Harpoon Downton Abbey continues its success with a #1 in the home-media charts. Just imagine how well it would have done if it was released in time for Christmas! Ad Astra is a serious space film staring Brad Pitt. After it's lack of success at the box office and violently mixed reviews, I think it has done well to reach #2 here. Hotel Mumbai is a film about the real-life terrorist attack on the Taj hotel. It's apparently a very hard watch but an important film. Jurassic Expedition (#36) was originally titled Alien Expedition but I guess they decided Dinosaurs sell better than Aliens. It has a 2.7 on IMDb so i'd stay clear. Iron Fury (#52) is this week's war film. Aka T-34, this is a Russian film about Russian soldiers escaping German control during WWII. The Death And Return Of Superman (#89) is just 2 animated DC films squashed together into one. "The Death..." originally made #12 in the charts. This week's TV entries are Doctor Who (#4), His Dark Materials (#7), The Trial Of Christine Keeler (#70) & Killjoys (#82). This post has been edited by LewisGT: 3rd February 2020, 11:12 PM |

MASSIVE numbers for Downton Abbey it outsold the rest of the top 5 combined with over 240,000 sales. 96% were physical formats. The largest physical sales since Endgame in September.
Joker is on course for MASSIVE sales next week too. It racked up 140,500 downloads alone. The third largest opening week on digital. |

Joker is on course for MASSIVE sales next week too. It racked up 140,500 downloads alone. The third largest opening week on digital. That's insane sales for Downton Abbey. It doesn't even feel like the sort of film people would rush to buy first week so I imagine it's going to hang around well too. I can't imagine what the figure would have been if it was released in time for Christmas. |

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw Stats Highest not in combined top 40 - 7. The Breakfast Club (#55) Highest not in top 100 - 14. Bait Other New Entries - 26. Fail Safe (1964), 48. Robin And Marian (1976), 49. Judgement Night (1993), 60. Greystoke: The Legend Of Tarzan, Lord Of The Apes (1984), 76. Monty Python's Flying Circus: Series 2, 79. Ssss.Gridman: The Complete Series To the surprise of no-one, especially if you saw the sale figures quoted by Jonjo last week, Downton Abbey stays atop the chart for a 2nd week. The top 2 just continue to prove that there's a massive market for films aimed at an older, female-skewing audience following recent success of other films such as Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again & Red Joan. Following on from the best actress win for Renee Zellweger at last night Oscars, Judy is the highest new entry this week at #2. The Courier (#7) exceeds expectations to land a top 10 debut. Starring Gary Oldman in one of his paycheque roles, the film is about a courier (played by Olga Kurylenko) who has to deliver a package which turns out to be a bomb. 47 Metres Down: Uncaged (#15) is the sequel to the surprise 2017 US smash hit "47 Meters Down" starring Mandy Moore. It's a shark attack film which probably would have done much better if they stuck to the original planned title, 48 Meters Down. The Tiger Who Came To Tea (#19) is the Channel 4 short animation film that was broadcast at Christmas based on the Judith Kerr children's book. Dog Fight: Battle For The Skies (#29) is this weeks seemingly mandatory war film. This one has an almost unbelievably awful 1.4 rating on IMDb and is directed by Christopher Forbes, a frequent visitor to this chart. Other recent films by him have been Stormbirds (#18), Jesse James: The Unstoppable Outlaw (#53) and The Last Days Of Billy The Kid (N/A but #91 on DVD chart). The popular French comic-strip turned Children's cartoon Asterix enters at #34 with 'The Secret Of The Magic Potion'. This week's TV entries include Dracula (#8) and Paw Patrol (#71). Zombieland Saga: The Complete Series After 2 wins at the Oscars, Joker debuts at #1 in the chart. A film I'm sure of which we're all very familiar. Aardman's 8th full-lenth feature film, 'Farmageddon' enters at #3. The film is apparently a delight and has been released worldwide (sans UK) by Netflix. The original Shaun The Sheep movie entered at #2 behind American Sniper and the double-pack this week is at #20. Abominable (#5) has been a nice little hit for Dreamworks even with its delayed release in the UK. The film stars the voice talent of Chloe Bennet & some Chinese stars. Ready Or Not (#9) was the best reviewed horror-comedy flop of 2019 and stars 'not-Margot-Robbie' Samara Weaving. She's also great in the Netflix film 'The Babysitter' if this is your genre. The film is about a deadly game of Hide & Seek organised by her husband's family. Little Monsters (#24) is another well-reviewed 2019 horror-comedy. This one stars Lupita Nyong'o as a schoolteacher who has to keep her class safe after a zombie apocalypse occurs during a school trip. Mr. Jones (#26) is about a true story about a Welsh journalist who visits Soviet Russia to write a story about the previously unreported on Soviet famine. The Snail And The Whale (#31) is another British cartoon based on a kids book following on from The Tiger... last week. New Hope Club (#47) is a DVD version of the album which is set to enter the UK album chart top 10 this week released on the band's store. It also comes with a documentary! This week's TV entries include NCIS (#29), The Goes Wrong Show (#36), Father Brown (#37), Britannia (#91) and WWE (#100). |

After Aladdin & Bad Boys For Life have been huge hits and Spies In Disguise did decent, it wouldn't be a question if it wasn't for the huge flop that is Gemini Man that opens here at 3. Ang Lee is always at the forefront of movie technological advances and the major selling points of this film are the 120fps framerate and the completely CGI younger clone of Will Smith. However neither got good reviews and the census is that it doesn't look right. Primal (#17) is the 3rd hit of the year already for the busiest man in showbiz, Nicolas Cage. The film is Con Air with a Jaguar which sounds suitable crazy for a Cage film. The House On Cemetery Hill (#35) is a cheap British horror about an author who finds a boy-sized doll who becomes the inspiration for his next book. Snatchers (#65) is a horror about a teenage girl who after having sex for the first time awakes the next morning to find herself 9 months pregnant with an alien child. The Jack In The Box (#82) is the 2nd cheap British horror film of the week. This time about a killer clown inside of a Jack-in-the-box. Monos (#83) is a film about 8 children armed with guns who live in a remote mountaintop who have to look after a hostage. It's a film I've heard great things about and is apparently crazy, visceral and surreal. This week's TV entries include Heroes & Villains (#76) and The Brokenwood Mysteries (#96). The Pillow Book, 85. ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band From Texas Joker is back on top which means Zombieland: Double Tap (#2) cannot match the original's #1 peak. The double pack opens at 14. Official Secrets is a real-life crime drama about a whistleblower who leaked information about the Iraq war. It stars Keira Knightley and was released at the same time as Amazon's 'The Report' starring Adam Driver which has a similar premise. Bruce Willis attempts to show he's the King of straight-to-DVD as his entry, Trauma Centre, opens once place higher than Nic Cage's effort last week at #16. This is a killer-thriller in a locked-down hospital where Willis is a cop trying to protect an injured woman. What a week for straight-to-DVD stars as Steven Seagal also has a new release! Beyond The Law (#26) is a about a former dirty cop and an ex-mobster who work together to serve justice to the killer of one of their (I don't know which) sons. It also stars (woof, woof) DMX. I think we can all guess what In The Line Of Duty (#37)'s original title was. It stars Two-Face himself, Aaron Eckhart as a disgraced cop who accidentally kills a kidnapper and must find their victim before it's too late. Freaks (#44) is a sci-fi about a young child who is locked away by her parents and forbidden from leaving the house. She eventually defies her father after jumping in the back of an ice-cream truck. I'm not sure if it's a spoiler but she has superpowers. Roma (#71) is the critically acclaimed Oscar contender from the other year. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, it is a black and white tale of his childhood focused on his family's maid. I'm sure we all watched it on Netflix anyway. Scandal (#81) is a 1989 film starring John Hurt & Joanne Whalley. The film is about one Christine Keeler and her affair with a government minister, just as last month's "The Trial Of Christine Keeler' was too. The Family (#88) is a 2016 film originally titled 'Bender' about America's first serial killer family. The Village In The Woods (#98) is this week's cheap British horror (which seems to be overtaking 'war' as the most popular genre) about a spooky village where a down-on-their-luck couple move to after inheriting a house there. This has a 6.3 IMDb rating which is amazing for this type of film. This week's only TV entries is Dragon Ball Super (#21) |

Cold Pursuit Falling Out: Dragon Ball Super: Part 10 Roma Good Omens Scandal (1989) Mrs Lowry & Son Mr. Jones Maleficent The Family Little Monsters Batman And Harley Quinn Midsommar The Village In The Woods Rise Of The Footsoldier: The Ultimate Collection DVD 1. Terminator: Dark Fate 2. Joker 3. The Addams Family 4. Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil 5. Downton Abbey: The Movie 6. Zombieland: Double Tap 7. Gemini Man 8. Judy 9. A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon 10. Death In Paradise: Series Nine Stats Highest not in combined top 40 - 36. Red Joan (#41) Highest not in top 100 - 95. Mrs. Lowry & Son Blu-Ray 1. Terminator: Dark Fate 2. Joker 3. Zombieland: Double Tap 4. Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil 5. Gemini Man 6. Avengers: Endgame 7. The Addams Family 8. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood 9. Downton Abbey: The Movie 10. Captain Marvel Stats Highest not in combined top 40 - 17. Runaway (1984) Highest not in top 100 - 17. Runaway (1984) Other New Entries - 17. Runaway (1984), 24. Come To Daddy, 27. Spacehunter: Adventures In The Forbidden Zone (1983), 42. The 8 Diagram Pole Fighter (1984), 50. Mash (1970), 54. Miller's Crossing (1990), 57. Fruits Basket: Season One, Pt. 2, 73. The White Witch Of Devil's End (2017), 79. Rain Man (1988), 86. Speed/Speed 2: Cruise Control (1994/1997) I can't be bothered to go back and check, but I'm pretty sure Dark Fate joins each of the home-media charts era Terminator films by reaching the top of the charts. After flopping at the cinema I'm sure that Disney will be glad to see it debut more stably here at the top. The Addams Family (#3) shows that cheap animation with a starry cast and a recognisable brand is a winning formula. It made almost 10x its reported budged at the worldwide box office. Black And Blue (#22) is a police drama about a black female officer who witnesses two other cops commit murder and facing a dilemma. It stars Naomi Harris & Tyrese Gibson. Countdown (#44) is a gimmicky horror film about an app that tells you when you are going to die. It tried to be a Happy Death Day rubbish premise, actually good film/box-office hit type and failed miserably. Wolf (#47) is a film I can't find too much information about so here's its IMDb synopsis: When four messengers sent by Rome to a plague go missing, Rome has no choice but to send ten of their finest across Hadrian's Wall to find and bring them back. This week's TV entries include Death In Paradise (#14) and Vera (#18). This post has been edited by LewisGT: 16th March 2020, 01:49 PM |

The Quest (1996) After surprisingly beating 'Shining'-sequel Doctor Sleep to #1 at the US Box Office a few months back, Midway does the same here to debut atop the charts. This is a passion project for its director, the master of disaster, Roland Emmerich and focuses on the same battle that Dauntless: Battle of Midway (#22) did last year. Sorry We Missed You (#15) is the latest film by Ken Loach and showcases the exploitation of companies like Amazon and the economic hardships of those who work in the delivery jobspace. The Haunting Of Alcatraz (#29) is a horror set in the notorious island prison where a young officer has to deal with the bizarre death of an inmate. Westlife reformed and did a tour. A live perfomance of which enters at #13. André Rieu does the same thing every year and this time enters at #52. Jonjo is indeed correct and the biggest talking point this week is the avalanche of Disney films making the chart. Disney really are the Kings of milking out that last bit of money before Disney+ launches in the UK next week. This post has been edited by ┴פsᴉʍǝ˥: 23rd March 2020, 12:58 PM |

Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971), 67. Judy & Punch, 89. Pink Films: Vol. 1 & 2 Mother's Day has an effect on the chart with Downton Abbey climbing back to the top spot. We also see re-entries and climbs for other titles such as Mamma Mia 2, Mother's Day, The Crown, Bohemian Rhapsody, Gone With The Wind & Book Club. Just like The Grinch last year, a Christmas film has released early and ruined it's chances of a number one with Last Christmas opening at #2. Based on the Wham! hit with the most obvious twist of the 2010's. The Good Liar (#8) is a film I rented last night for my Mum for Mother's Day because I'm a good son. Good work from Ian McKellen & Helen Mirren of course but it felt like they thought the twist that she's really scamming him was so obvious, they went insane for finding a reason for her doing it. Honestly, the explanation is so far out of the blue, its turned orange. Superman: Red Son (#13) is the latest DC animated film. This is based on a popular comic-series that asked the question: what if Superman had been raised in the Soviet Union? We Go In At Dawn (#46) is this week's war film. It is about a solider who is captured by the Germans but when is rescued, doesn't want to leave. Hell On The Border (#57) is a western starring Ron Pearlman, Frank Grillo & Zach McClarnon. It is about an ex-slave who becomes a deputy US marshal. This week's TV entries include Doctor Who (#6), Call The Midwife (#14) and WWE (#51). With very little competition, this week's #1 is the best-picture nominated Le Mans '66 (Ford v Ferrari for our American friends). The Hunt For Vlad The Impaler (#37) is a Turkish film originally titled 'Deliler' that focuses on 7 Ottaman soldiers who try to hunt down and murder the infamous conqueror. Doll House (#91) is a cheap-British horror film about a young girl who is put into a foster home with her only possession being a doll house. Murder ensues. This week's TV entries include Attack On Titan (#64) and Shakespeare & Hathaway... (#83). |
