Welcome to Battle of the Canadians - the first artist crossover event in the Shawn Mendes forum!

We've handpicked four of the biggest names in music, hailing from Canada like Shawn, to feature in a number of battle rounds to determine who the best of the lot is! Similar to Battle of the Boybands in the One Direction forum, there will be a series of polls where Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Avril Lavigne and Drake will battle for your affections. Only one artist can win each round, and an overall winner will be crowned at the end of the event based on how many polls they've won!

For Round Nine, the FINAL round, we're letting you decide which is the most iconic of the artists' most iconic albums - from Shawn's most recent self-titled album, to Views by Drake and Under My Skin by Avril Lavigne - these albums may be considered the creme de la creme of an artist's discography, or have had a massive impact since being released!

Simply vote for your favourite album in the poll above! Spotify playlist embeds available in the second post if you need to refresh your memory!

A) Emotion is like the best thing the earth has ever given us I won’t accept any other winner
B) surely Let Go is more iconic than Under My Skin?

Emotion > Under My Skin > Purpose > Shawn Mendes (All of them are the respective artists best, except Avril (!!) The Best Damn Thing > )

Does Not Compute: Views.

Final Round results:

01 Under My Skin (Avril Lavigne) | 5 votes; 41.67%
02 Emotion (Carly Rae Jepsen) | 3 votes; 25.00%
03 Purpose (Justin Bieber) | 2 votes; 16.67%
04= Shawn Mendes (Shawn Mendes) | 1 vote; 8.33%
04= Views (Drake) | 1 vote; 8.33%

In the final battle to be named the artist with the most iconic album, Avril Lavigne scoops up the trophy with her album Under My Skin - making it yet another win for her, being the most successful artist in the competition. Emotion by Carly Rae Jepsen isn't too far behind with 3 votes and a decent 25% share of the vote, while in third place is Justin Bieber with his album Purpose. Shawn doesn't manage to put up a fight at all in this round with his self-titled third album (shame considering this is the Shawn AF oops), and neither does Drake with Views as he and Shawn both only received one vote each, in joint fourth place.

Thanks so much to everybody who has voted in each of the rounds and contributed over the last couple of months! It wasn't finished as soon as anticipated, but grateful y'all stuck around to see it out!! Keep your eyes peeled for something else coming very soon! cool2.gif
