On Again...Off Again is one of my all-time favourites, I have a lot of good memories linked to it. I even remember sending Julie an email at the time and she replied...the days before Twitter laugh.gif I adored everything Malta sent between 2002-2005, even poor Lynn, they were the most consistent nation for me in that period.

Love What If (even though it's hugely generic, I love the melody and it sounded great 'live in the hall') and Dona, which is a vocal powerhouse.

Agree that 18th seems surprisingly high for Is It Right looking back, it had bottom three written all over it. I do have it on CD single actually, but I was in Munich the week of the contest and got hold of it for cheap.

I loved New Tomorrow at the time, although don't listen to it that much now. It's a bit 'Take That album track' but is quite anthemic.

Based on your Birgit comment I'm looking forward to seeing where Pernilla places, though on typing this I just remembered that's actually in Swedish - though you still very rarely hear that! I think Finnish is one of the most beautiful languages when coupled with music - along with Icelandic, and Estonian sounds nice too (based on Randajad).

To be fair, Ireland haven't been up to much have they in this time period... Dustin the Turkey would probably be at least in my top 10 for them mellow.gif

Think I'd rank them with Ryan at first by quite a way, then Niamh by quite a way, then Jedward (Lipstick) which really is quite a cringe thing to admit... to be fair, Cann-Lin and Ryan Dolan weren't bad either so they'd be up there for me too.

There's a few of these nordic/baltic songs where the language plays a bit part yet to come actually: Pernilla, Kuula, Rändajad, Tii, Työlki Ellää and Alvedansen to name a few.

Switch Mariana for Deep Zone and that'd be the same Bulgarian top 5 for me! Also couldn't stand "Samo Shampioni" and still don't really get "Water" either...
