I am aware of how mean this is to do especially so early into 'Chromatica's' shelf life, but I am really interested to see where it ranks for you guys in these early days? We can do another one later in the year to see if anything has changed obviously. BUT, 3 days into 'Chromatica' how does it compare to the previous albums? The Fame The Fame Monster Born This Way ARTPOP Cheek to Cheek* Joanne A Star is Born* Chromatica -*include if you wish to- |

I have a very clear last place and a very clear first place. The rest? Yeah, this will take some thought...

My rankings are kinda split into 3 (for the main albums) - ARTPOP & BTW clear top 2, TFM and Chromatica in the middle and Joanne and The Fame at the bottom and they switch about in those placements
At the minute I'd say Born This Way Artpop The Fame Monster Chromatica The Fame Joanne |

01. Born This Way
02. The Fame Monster 03. Chromatica 04. The Fame 05. ARTPOP 06. A Star is Born 07. Joanne 08. Cheek to Cheek ------------------------------ 'Chromatica' could very well overtake 'The Fame Monster' with time and it most probably will. That #01 is in impenetrable.. |

01. Born This Way
02. The Fame Monster 03. Chromatica 04. A Star is Born 05. The Fame 06. ARTPOP 07. Joanne 08. Cheek to Cheek That was tough. The hardest bit was deciding between ARTPOP and Joanne, and even now I feel like i've got the order mixed up between the two |

01. Born This Way
02. The Fame Monster 03. Chromatica 04. The Fame 05. Joanne 06. ARTPOP 07. A Star is Born 08. Cheek to Cheek 04-06 are very close for me so these can vary in position depending on how I feel! I need to rewatch A Star is Born (only watched once) and then investigate the album as I only know the three singles particularly well plus a couple others here and there. Is Cheek to Cheek worth a listenthrough? |

Cheek to Cheek not so much (although I've barely listened to it myself) but I implore you to give the ASIB more time! There is so much goodness on it even if that is my personal attachment to the movie speaking. Ballads like Is That Alright?, Before I Cry, the Bradley moments like Maybe It's Time, duets like Diggin' My Grave and then the pop bangers Heal Me and Look What I Found. Something for everyone *.* the 'without dialogue' album on Spotify is the one.

02. The Fame Monster 03. The Fame 04. Chromatica 05. ARTPOP 06. A Star is Born* 07. Joanne 08. Cheek to Cheek* 'Chromatica' has potential to climb but it's way too early to compare it to the top 3 - they defined my teenage years! |

I’m gonna come back and edit this soon with Chromaticas placing but the rest I’d say
1. Born This Way 2. The Fame Monster 3. A Star Is Born 4. The Fame 5. Joanne 6. ARTPOP 7. Cheek to Cheek I definitely still think Joanne is a better album than ARTPOP but I think almost everyone will rank it bottom of her solo albums |

I've not constantly listened to an album in full three days into release in years and Chromatica is the first Gaga album that I've been addicted to from start to finish, and has made me love Gaga again. So that earns it the top spot (yes I know, already). In such an awful state the World is in, this new album has come at such a good time and has healed all the negativity in my life.

This is going to get a lot of stick..
09.0 The Fame Monster 09.0 Born This Way 08.5 Joanne 08.5 Chromatica 08.0 A Star is Born* 07.5 The Fame 04.0 ARTPOP Never heard: Cheek to Cheek* --- The top 2 are perfectly crafted, pure pop works of art. The highs on both are some of the greatest pop songs of the 21st Century. NOW it's the controversial opinion... 'Joanne' is such a gorgeous body of work. I am SO grateful she took a huge risk like that and actually managed to give us a stunning album (literally the only song I don't go back to is 'Hey Girl' - and that's not coz of Gaga! If it was a solo version... SIGN ME UP). It's by far the most personal she has ever been and although the highs aren't anywhere NEAR the highs of the other albums (including ARTPOP), the whole album as an album... just flows beautifully and is definitely her most cohesive work to date, imo. So raw and rich. I love it and I listen to this album from start to finish, a fair bit (whereas I'm more likely to cherry pick my faves from the other albums etc..) 'Chromatica' will probably end up a bit higher, but as it's so recent I have to place it a bit lower. But we are in full stan mode. ASIB is stunning. But a lot of the songs work a lot better in the context of the movie, than they do as standalone songs, to me. But again, the highs ('Shallow', 'Before I Cry', 'Is That Alright?' & 'I'll Never Love Again') are stellar! 'The Fame' is such a strong debut album, but majority has aged quite a bit, but I will be ready to embrace this sound all over again in about 5 years *.* ARTPOP. I love about 4 |

Jonjo you really hit the nail on the head there when you said Chromatica does what ARTPOP tried to do. I think it fits ARTPOPs concept and theme really well to be honest but it’s produced a lot better and feels way more natural too.
ARTPOP isn’t a bad album by any means though but I just feel like it’s overworked to the point where too much is happening. |

01 Born This Way
02 The Fame Monster 03 Joanne 04 Chromatica 05 ARTPOP 06 The Fame 'Joanne' is a lot better than people give credit... 'Chromatica' doesn't come close to the highs of ARTPOP but is far more consistent, and 'The Fame' has aged like milk. |

Jonjo your rate + explanation make sense and it's great to have someone here for Joanne in such a big way! Likewise with Blacksquare. I really enjoy it when I hear it but on paper, it doesn't have as many standout moments as the others so I always find myself rating it much lower. If ARTPOP continues its slight decline for me and Joanne ends up maturing well over time, I could easily swap them round in my ranking!
