Gabby Barrett, aka the new queen of country, is releasing her 1st album Goldmine next Friday (19th June)
 She gained steam after I Hope (an ultraviolenceland bjsc entry x) took off and definitely seems to be country's next star <3 She gained fame through American Idol and many are comparing her to being Carrie Underwood's successor *.*Album tracklist: 1) I Hope 2) Thank God 3) Write It on My Heart 4) Footprints On The Moon 5) You're The Only Reason 6) Goldmine 7) The Good Ones 8) Jesus & My Mama 9) Hall Of Fame 10) Got Me 11) Rose Needs a Jack 12) Strong 13) I Hope (feat. Charlie Puth) so far just under half the album has been released! (both I Hope's, Footprints, Good Ones, Hall Of Fame & Got Me). All are so good, I Hope is by far the best but everything else is fab <3 (and the order in the brackets is order of quality tbh) I Hope which is Gabby's debut & breakthrough single! This has already smashed in America (peaking at #16) and is gonna hang around in the charts FOREVER now cos its crossing over to pop! <3 a modern day before he cheats *.* New song Footprints On The Moon that was released today, such a fab song and immediately instant! The current US single that seems like it's gonna be another US hit |

07 Thank God 10 Write It On My Heart (single please!) 08 Footprints On The Moon 10 You’re The Only Reason 10 Goldmine (didn’t like on first listen, but gave it another listen and it’s FIRE! Love her rocky voice) 09 The Good Ones 09 Jesus & My Mama (was NOT expecting the rock sound for this track, nice surprise!) 08 Hall of Fame 05 Got Me feat. Shane and Shane 04 Rose Needs a Jack 10 Strong (VOCALS!) 05 I Hope feat. Charlie Puth (doesn’t add anything tbh, Charlie’s voice is nice enough though) Fave tracks: I Hope, Write It On My Heart, You’re The Only Reason, Goldmine and Strong Album loses it towards the end but a solid debut I think. She’s here to stay

11 I Hope - one of the best songs of the year
 09 Thank God - this is great, the chorus is so good! 09.5 Write It On My Heart - LOVE this, def will be a 10 soon 10 Footprints On The Moon - a pre-release highlight *.* 08.5 You're The Only Reason I'm Here - another rly cute song <3 I don't know if I'll go back to this one as much as some of the others 07 Goldmine - I'm not sure on the chorus aha. this is one of those imma love soon or it's gonna irritate me so much by like 5th listen 10 The Good Ones - this was more of an 8/9 on my first few listens but I utterly adore it now <3 10 Jesus & My Mama - 09 Hall Of Fame - love this song <3 08 Got Me - another rly good song pre-release but not a major fave 07 Rose Needs a Jack - this is a bit filler-y. this was the one I was probs most hyped for based on song title before I listened aha 08 Strong - another rly good track <3 08 I Hope - Charlie isn't amazing on this but his solid enough and the song remains fab as usual *.* easily one of the best albums of the year and a fantastic debut! <3 Think this is probs straight in my top 5 of the year gonna be goin back to this so much *.*

She better not do a Maren and MESS THIS UP with her next era. Maren had potential to branch out FURTHER, but ended up playing it too safe, I think.

I Hope is finally top 15 in America after so many close misses!!
 with the way its still rising on radio + holding solidly on sales/streaming, I wonder if it could sneak into the top 10 eventually? This becoming such a gigantic hit in America has been amazing to see <3 |

Surpasses the peak of the bones and I wanna say it’s the highest charting solo female country song on hot 100 since Red?! 😮 And meant to be is the only country song with any female vocals on to go top 10 in forever so hopefully I hope can join that soon! |

Finally got round to the album, I Hope is a contender for song of year for me ofc but I also loved Thank God, Jesus & My Mama and The Good Ones, a really solid debut, I really think she's gonna be the next big country star, like a mini Carrie Underwood. She gets the comparison so much especially coming from Idol, but it feels so right.
I really am SO invested in I Hope going top 10 on the Hot 100, there's so few crossover top 10s for women in country, in terms of actually starting as a country hit and then going over to the Hot 100 top 10, I honestly think the last one for a solo female must have been Before He Cheats?! That's insane to say as that was 13 years ago, but it would be monumental if she not only did that, but did that with her debut single! The only other one I can think of is Cruise by FGL and that doesn't count as music x As for Meant To Be, I'd say it's JUST about country but it only went #1 because it's basically an FGL song, had it been Bebe solo there is NO chance it would have done what it did
