'You Make My Dreams' was certified Platinum just 40 weeks after being certified Gold back in November 2018, which meant it was averaging about 5k a week! Assuming it's selling at the same rate, it should be on ~980k to date, making it the first millionaire track never to chart!
From the songs that didn't make the Top 40, both 'The Chain' and 'What You Know' have passed 1m already (the former will be 2x Platinum next month) and 'Brown Eyed Girl' will pass 1m as of next Friday's chart. |

Congrats to 'Fergalicious', not released (or cancelled or whatever) in the UK but crawling its way to silver 14 years later.
Wow at 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', wherever it's coming from! It only has 5.1 million Spotify plays (worldwide). I assumed it was one of those random no-name 'artists' on digital services but it's actually a real duo featuring a singer who worked with the band Zero 7. |

nursery rhymes seem to do well on Amazon (I guess there's more parents of young kids using it for whatever reason) so that's probably responsible for most of its streams.

'Lullaby: Volume 1' by The Rainbow Collection went Gold earlier this year too and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' is track #1. Expect their version of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' going Silver next, I guess! Track #3 is 'Ride a Cock Horse' which I'm guessing is a lullaby song for adults. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

'I Swear' sold 706k in 1994 but I believe this has been revised to 510k. Depending on what sales you choose to believe, 'I Swear' has sold either 906k or 710k in total. '(I've Had) The Time of My Life' peaked at #6 when it charted from 1987-88 and #8 in 1990-91. Unsure of its total sales but presumably 900k+. 'When Doves Cry' sold 380k in 1984; 780k in total. 'You're My Best Friend' sold around 170k in 1976; 570k in total (I don't think that's right, I'm sure it's meant to be Silver not Gold as it's not been certified before. 370k in total seems more likely). |
