yep I've gone into depth on Tay's numbers in her artist forum and I can't believe just how well it did!! I was probs underestimating it slightly but the way its just DEMOLISHED lover, I was not expecting this extent of slayage!!
14 years into her career and still absolutely killing it  I hope there's a chance for cardigan/the 1/exile to all debut top 10 |

How does this happen, though? If Taylor was so big (which she is, clearly) why weren't these figures pulled with Reputation and Lover? Is it just the fact it's a surprise release that has people checking out of curiosity?
Weird that this album has started so strong yet she seemed on a decline before. |

yep with ~81m, folklore is the 2nd highest debut on Spotify worldwide of all time I believe. I am shocked it beat Hollywood's Bleeding, with one less track as well!

As somebody said earlier having no physical release yet helped as those who would normally have bought a CD/vinyl are streaming instead. |

Extraordinary streams for Taylor (wonder how the top 3 will hold up), and Joel Corry too!
Rockstar has dropped below Savage Love for only the second time (the other being the day the latter was #1) and could well be on its way to ACR. Rain On Me also seems to be losing ground regardless of ACR as it's dropped marginally behind Blinding Lights. Haven't been tracking this 100%, but I think #48 is Dance Monkey's lowest placing since last August (it only fell to #47 on Christmas Day anyway). That Bella tune only dropping to #62 can't just be down to curiosity streams surely

but the release strategy is genious, release it on vinyl/CD but only thru her store not on shops so people won't get it right away so in the meantime they stream the album, but it doesn't stop people from buying the physical also releasing 8 different CDs and 8 different vinyls sure helps this strategy could work for a lot of acts |
