I'm not sure this will work well, one of the main draws for me of Eurovision is seeing all the different cultural styles in music across different countries.
I can't see the entries here being that varied or interesting. |

It confirms in the article it'll just be the US states unfortunately

Go team Nebraska!
Will be interesting to see how this plays out, I do think we'd see a good variety of songs in this, would probably get a lot more country music than you'd see in Eurovision courtesy of the southern states, plus a few more rap artists as well. |

The best thing about this is that it means USA will not be anywhere near ESC which is something I dreaded happening.

I'm fairy interested to see how it works, though I do agree I think it'll really miss the cultural diversity and eccentricity that ESC has, although Hawaii I imagine could be a pretty cool curveball.

I also have a feeling that they'll drag it out over so many episodes rather than having two semis and a final.

I LOVE the idea of this. The US is very varied musically (not as varied as Europe, arguably, but still.) It could be really good.

I don't see it being extremely popular in this part of the world mostly due to the amount of country music that is bound to be thrown at us :')

what I am mostly curious is to know if any big name will compete
Someone like Ricky Martin representing Puerto Rico etc. etc. |

I'd much rather Eurovision Asia finally come to fruition tbh
I'm curious about how the voting will work, are they able to separate out phone numbers in the US so that you can't vote for your own state? |

Like everyone else, interested to see how this plays out. Especially how they manage the qualifying process as 50 is ever so slightly too big for the Eurovision model (or even more if you include DC/Puerto Rico).
I imagine California and Tennessee will end up being the ones to beat if this becomes a regular event. |

I would rather have Eurovision Asia as well, and it didn't happen in the end... Not sure for this as well

I like the idea of this. If it is executed well and if there is a diverse group of artists it could work well
