^ if you click the links for both, the website held polls and Gaga had way more votes on both which is Adelita's point

I agree that no way The Weeknd got more votes for VOTY than Gaga/Ariana. I mean if the two fanbases voted in the first place, that was the MAIN award to vote. But I guess they will always award the "biggest song" as Video of the Year these days. I'm fine with Gaga getting the consolation prizes, it's not that serious anyway.

@H00z
I just checked the results and the poll is showing The Weeknd as the one who got the most votes. 😱 The Weeknd – “Blinding Lights” (Winner) 36.87% Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande – “Rain On Me” 26.08% Y'all are really underestimating The Weeknd stans. They are JUST as insane as the BTS/Gaga ones lmao :') This post has been edited by ɥɔʇᴉq: 1st September 2020, 09:51 AM |

Ok we had this debate yesterday and have since moved on from it, so we're leaving it there before it turns nasty again.

The irony considering a lot of fans assumed the era had ended before the VMA announcement! I did have doubts at the back of my mind tbh but did silently believe that such an incredible record wouldn't be left to gather dust in the way it seemed to before the announcement! |

The mask was sound reactive! If you watch carefully, particularly during 911, her vocals definitely quieten down when the mic moves away slightly so I am now fairly sure it was live vocals and not dubbed on after! Confusing and must have been super high-tech masks to allow the sound to get through like that so who knows! |

Yep confirmed by the designers that it was made to allow Gaga to sing and perform live! Her dedication is second to NONE. |

I actually did assume that the mask didn't just operate randomly and there was some kind of logic to it. And it doesn't surprise me that Gaga would come up with something like that.

I mean where are the lies.. It makes a little sense to not wear a mask if you don't have dancers in your number but since it's all pre-recorded it's not like the vocals are going to be affected by you wearing it I think Gaga recorded the vocals in the mask as well as far as I could tell given the sound quality.
