So, seeing that WAP hit number 1 yesterday and seeing people saying this about it in America, I was just wondering: is this the most explicit song to hit number one here?
The term "explicit" is somewhat subjective but the only song I can think of which would potentially take the title is Cee Lo Green's f*** You, albeit that song and WAP are explicit for quite different reasons. |

Eamon- f*** It (I Don't Want You Back) had the record of the most expletives on a UK #1.

Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing in the Name' is pretty expletive-laden.

Probably the non radio edit version of Outhere Brothers - Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle).
On a similar subject of explicit songs, the earliest explicit song to make the UK top 40 I can find would be a song I discovered a while back while looking at the official chart archive; The Winker's Song (Misprint) by Doc Cox which made #22 in 1978 This post has been edited by TheSnake: 5th September 2020, 07:42 PM |

WAP is easily more explicit, but does f*** It still holds the record for most actual curse words?
