Top 100 for the 19th August 2020
Pete's Chart Commentary This week's happened to be the week BJSC ended, as well as another indie contest I take part in happening and me discovering Walking on Cars had released new music so lots of newies this week. Judging by the lack of anything exciting on my Release Radar next week will be less exciting (and some songs which entered incredibly low will be able to climb). The only BJSC song to actually make my Top 40 is the Holland-Oats DNQ, Ball Park Music. Given the fact they lost on a tiebreak, I gave them +10 and the song I gave +12 to is 38 places behind them, I am feeling a little guilty. Other BJSC entries include TTTRUUUCES, Ndlovu Youth Choir, Working Men's Club and SMACK/Luciana. Also entering the Top 10 this week is a surprisingly catchy song by MAX who makes his first appearance as lead artist after features on songs by Galantis and Matoma, although it's tiring on me a bit now soo expect a large drop next week. Various other great songs enter, most of which will hopefully climb next week. Oh and I almost forgot, we have a new #1! Bastille finally makes it there, and Knocks/MUNA overtake Declan to regain the #2 position. As I predicted, Declans are falling across the board today. 1 [2] Bastille - WHAT YOU GONNA DO??? (ft. Hi Pete, Lukas Graham and JUNG still Top 10 I get the feeling that you like Declan McKenna Vize/Tom Gregory Top 40 Bubbling Under: Nice new cover from Twocolors I do indeed like Declan Glad you're a fan of all these Euro-hits! Thanks Sven Hi Pete! Nice to see an Declan McKenna takeover and the entry into the top 40 for "Never Let Me Down"! I also like seeing a huge gain for "Beautiful Faces"! Great chart! Glad you like all these - finally got into Never Let Me Down after just passing my it for weeks Thanks Sergej! Hi Pete! Great to see lots of Declan tracks up there, including another week at #1 for 'Be an Astronaut'. It's a fantastic album and I'm looking forward for my signed CD to come! Elsewhere, I'm liking the entries from New Order and Vize! Great chart I have recieved my (non-signed) CD, still disappointed it missed #1 Thanks Whoddy! Hi Pete! Love to see so much of Zeros in your top 20 - it's my favourite new album for quite a while! I listened to some of your other new entries too - I liked the ones by VIZE and New Rules. I'm surprised that Lovefool cover at #98 isn't a hit yet on the official charts, sounds very in line with all the dance covers we've been getting lately! Great chart! Glad you like these! When I heard Lovefool I did think it sounded very UK Chart-friendly but I guess we'll have to see how it does in the coming months. Thanks Ansel! Hi Pete, I like the title of your number one. Always wanted to be an astronaut Highlights for me include Bastille, Travis, Taylor Swift, Clean bandit, LEON, Dua, PNAU, The Roop, Little Jinder, New Order, Joel, though a sad goodbye to Welcome To Te Neighbourhood lots more I'm sure I'd like if I youtube them! Glad you like all these songs! It was time for Boston Manor to go I think, can't bask in the fact I once qualified for BJSC for too long Hi Pete! Oof a Declan bomb, but we have two Emilys in the chart! Never Let You Down had a big leap to top 40 Glad you like all these! Never Le Me Down has just been in my head all week so it had to go Top 40 - Thanks Jack Hey Pete! Nice little takeover there from the McKenna! 'Rapture' is my favourite of the ones I hadn't heard so I'm glad to see that here, and 'Sagittarius A*' is pretty decent too. Overall, a solid album, just a shame it missed out on number one I've liked a few New Rules songs before and 'Emily' is quite nice. Hoping Bastille are gonna climb to number one next week! Indeed, Rolling Stones didn't need another one! This is the first New Rules song I've really paid much attention to (although YouTube tells me I've heard 24 hours), looking forward to more from them! And your wish is my command |

Hey Pete! Sadly I've not heard anything from your chart. I am slightly behind but I've started listening to more current music, so there's always the future 😂
Although, it is nice to see Exile in here. One song I have heard 😂 |

Heya Pete! Liking the BJSC invasion, especially TTRRUUCES which was another belter from FARC. I'm super late to the Declan McKenna train but the album was good, especially The Key to Life on Earth which entered my chart this week Good stuff.

Hey Pete!
Nice to see the debuts for "Space" and "Heat Up" in the top 40! I also like the other debut for "Talk To Your Body"! Great chart! |
