Good to see upwards movement for Becky Hill and Jax Jones, and that insta-add for Little Mix, their releases are getting better and better this era.
11 weeks for 'Midnight Sky' is very impressive! |

HARRY STYLES- GOLDEN!!!!
Did not expect them to add Golden this early! The video must be coming soon... Golden is a perfect autumn bop and one of faves on Fine Line. Happy with Ariana going straight to the A-List too; Positions is a great track. Little Mix’s Sweet Melody is the best track of the era so far and can see it doing very well commercially. i hate it when Radio 1 refuse to playlist older artists just because of their ageist policy...
Kylie’s new song “ I love it” sounds so current and fresh...they only refuse to playlist her because she’s considered “old” and “uncool” according to Radio 1 managers... same goes for many classic and older artists who are banned from airplay for that reason... Not sure why Miley really needs an 11th week - something like Come Over or Lasting Lover could have been added instead to the A List. However, I do like the adds for the new Little Mix single, Harry Styles and Mark Knight this week!

Lasting Lover is going to get the stuck at B List treatment like Savage Love and Dance Monkey I think, apparently quite a few presenters at Radio 1 aren't keen on the song.

It’s a bit like chicken or the egg for me: does Radio 1 not playlist acts like Kylie because they’re no longer cool and relevant with younger audiences, or do younger audience just not listen to these acts because they don’t get the exposure from radio (and streaming playlists). |

Songs have been before but very rarely - I seek to remember Tom Walkers Leave a Light On got a second add as well as Nightmares by Easy Life. But since it was only on the playlist a couple of months ago, I can’t seem them replaylisting it, they’ll probably just add it to the recurrent list! |

To be pedantic 'Patience' isn't from their current era, it was a non-album single (unless you count it being tacked on as a Japanese exclusive bonus track). 'It Might Be Time' and (my personal favourite) 'Posthumous Forgiveness' were both released as singles before the album too but I guess not pushed to Radio 1 - I suppose the latter is not exactly a radio friendly song. |
