Is anyone else watching this? It's on Sky Atlantic at the moment, although it's only one episode a week so alas is unbingeable! Nicole and Hugh play pretty typical characters for them but both do so pretty well tbh... well they do for episode 1 at least anyway, things switch about a bit after that but I won't ruin the storyline too much...

I watched episode 1 and really enjoyed it! Nicole Kidman is SUCH a star, I need to watch more but I'm definitely intrigued!

Do keep going with it, it's keeping me guessing as to what is going on as more and more is revealed. Nicole is just wonderful but all the characters are pretty well written and we're definitely seeing different sides to them in the first four episodes. I am also in awe of Nicole's wardrobe, she looks amazing! *.*

yes I am watching it as well and I typically fall for these kind of dramas/thrillers.

It kinda reminds me a bit of Big Little Lies, but only in New York.

Oh and I don't want to jinx or ruin for people who haven't seen it yet but Donald Sutherland quote of cocksucker was IKONEK....give him EMMY already!!!

Excellent - I'll add it to the list of things we're watching to pretend 2020 isn't a thing.

Perhaps it was me who just felt a little cheated then. I thought it was very well acted again and in one way I liked the way it panned out, I just wish they hadn't spent so long giving us so many options and possibilities only for none of them to be at all relevant - I think that's why I kinda felt a bit cheated by the show. It did seem obvious what Nicole's character was going to do as soon as she volunteered to take the stand, I just wasn't sure at that point whether it was for the right reasons! That said, I found the shots of Hugh at the scene particularly difficult to watch, I think the fact he usually plays such a nice English guy made it all the more shocking to see him of all people battering someone to death - and I do think that was an inspired piece of casting too as it meant that us as viewers were taken in by Hugh playing his typical character in the same way as Nicole's character was.

So I am up to episode 4 and I have guessed just about every twist so far, or not been THAT surprised by them at least. I've watched enough of these types of shows to know whose been carefully placed in scenes etc. - think I know where this is going but I could be wrong.

The ending was absolutely dire — especially that cheesy helicopter chase which felt completely out of place with the six hours beforehand.

Oh yes agreed, that part did feel totally out of place and unnecessary. Worse still, it wasn't even very effective at what it tried to do!

I enjoyed this. Its very formulaic and generic, but it's an interesting and entertaining watch. Noah Jupe is SUCH a star. He's been brilliant in everything I've seen him in so far and he is surely a future Oscar winner?

I prefer 'Big Little Lies' over this though, dandy*! So I hope you get around to watching BLL soon! Zoe Kravitz in particular is... wow! wub.gif
