I wonder will aa Greatest Hits get released as a tribute to her time in the band and then the girls start afresh from there.

This is truly heartbreaking but I know in my heart they'll all be back as a 4-piece again one day.
For now I just want Jesy to focus on getting better and I pray the press go easy on her. She is such a talented gem and I will miss her being in the limelight dearly should it be a decision that she makes. |

Really sad news. Little Mix are always going to be so important to me and Jesy is so integral to all the success that they have achieved. She deserves so much praise for everything she has done outside of just the music too; especially with her documentary and how she's inspired so many people. I wish her all the best with whatever she decides to do now and hope this helps her get back into a better place.
Thank you for the amazing 9 years Jesy. I feel blessed that I did finally get to see them all together last year. |

They are NOTHING without Jesy. This reminds me of Geri's dep from the SG. Yes, they had the odd #1 single and hit album after ....but it wasn't the same. The SG would've carried on just fine had Mel C or Posh left. But Mel B, Emma and Geri were the CORE that were the SG.
In a similar vein, when I think of LM and their X Factor days.... they became popular because of their down to earth appeal, especially highlighted in Jesy. She wasn't the perfect petite popstar. She was a regular middle class girl without the looks or body that succeeded based on talent. I'm not saying the others weren't, they were as middle class and "normal" as Jesy was, but Jesy was the one people identified with the most. She was the face of the "brand" that became LM - a good female vocal quartet. I'm sure LM would've happily marched on if Perry had left. She remains somewhat devoid of persona, falls into the "pretty petite white girl" bucket. But Jesy IS brand-LM. On a personal level, I wish her the best. She's worked so hard for her success through the obesity headlines, the bullying, everything. I always felt she had it the hardest in this group. As for LM: they can carry on as a trio for max, another album. Or they can replace her, but they'll end up becoming a generic revolving door band like Sugababes. |

The comparisons to Geri are interesting as Geri's exit was certainly mental health related aswell however back in 98 mental health wasn't the open thing it is today.
Sometimes it just gets "too much" and you need to have time out. |

I'm thinking in my head "if you all say you're truly SG fans, then think about her". It couldn't have been easy for Jesy being in a room with 3 other girls that always got more media attention than her. I'd even read reports (although, probably unfounded) that Taylor Swift too was quite cold to Jesy back in 2015 (when they played at one of her US dates) compared to being chatty with the other 3. Regardless of all the talk that is diversity and inclusion and treating all with respect, etc. etc.... we're still a world driven largely by OPTICS. No wonder all of this took a toll on poor Jesy. |

I wouldn't say they're "NOTHING" without Jesy (they perform just as consistently as a group with a member missing)... However, I do think as far as the group is concerned, it'll just be them as a trio. I don't think (and would be incredibly shocked) if they decided to add another member to REPLACE Jesy. This feels SO different to other girl group splits/break ups so it's not really comparable at all to ANY of them. They seem to be on good terms with each other and there doesn't seem to be any kind of bitterness between any of the members and if Jesy ever wanted to join up again (if they were still a 3 piece in a couple of years ofc) then they'd be very welcoming to her and I'm sure they'd have her back with open arms.
I could see these 3 working as a 3-piece. Jade & Leigh are the predominant songwriters of the group and I can def see them continuing to work with their usual team (MNEK, Camille, Tayla Parx etc..) so I guess they'll wait and see how an album with the 3 of them does and then decide from there, which, is completely fair enough (if it does get to that point ofc)... As long as all 4 of them are happy and doing what is best for themselves, I don't mind what happens from here on out. They all deserve to be happy and they're all supportive of one another, which I think is the key. |

Never heard that one before. Their interviews are going to be less entertaining as well. Drunk Jesy was the best. This post has been edited by shadow2009: 14th December 2020, 09:38 PM |

Did Perrie, Jade and Leigh Anne ever really get more media attention than Jesy did? She’s had a hard time with trolls etc but there has also been a load of love and adoration for Jesy that the other girls didn’t always get either |

I feel like Jesy has more media attention than the other girls if I'm honest. She was lots of fans favourite member.
I do feel like you could tell she wasn't happy anymore in certain clips, Radio 1 Live Lounge really highlighted she was struggling. Love Jesy and gutted she has left, It's a shame the girls couldn't have given Little Mix a break for a couple of years and come back after exploring solo projects, perhaps Jesy would have felt more comfortable. Obviously her main priority is her health but I hope she realises what a huge part of Little Mix she was and the trolls were such a small percentage in comparison to the love her fans and general public had for her. It's a shame all round as this album seems to have got them back on track. |

It's genuinely heartbreaking knowing it had to come to this. Must have been a terribly difficult decision for Jesy but the right one as it means she can put her mental health first. The Team Jesy email in her Instagram bio is intriguing. Can anyone see her pursuing a solo music career?
I'm sure the remaining girls will be thinking they have to work that much harder to prove that they can continue as a 3-piece. But I think they've already shown how much of a force they still are even with one of their members missing. Their Sweet Melody performances have been fire. They will no doubt work their butts off to serve the best performances for the fans and prove any critics wrong. I'm excited to see what they deliver. |

Jesy was always the one to receive more media attention, it’s literally pivotal to her breakdown. She couldn’t make a move without the British scum media going down her throat.
I’m not comfortable either with saying this is like Geri either. Geri’s leaving is hazy, it was also said she left because of a power struggle as well. Jesy leaving was completely down to her mental health and putting herself first which is the BEST option. Regarding the remaining 3, it is going to be interesting seeing them go forward and I’m still a Little Mix stan through and through. I’m excited for them. I don’t agree with the above nonsense that they’re not relatable or personality driven etc etc, because they are. Jesy brought a lot of character on and off stage but the other three do their part just as well and are so incredibly strong to want to continue instead of just saying no. |

I'm the same in my head she always got the most attention in the press both good and bad apart from when perrie split with Zayn. There is no doubt this was a tough tough decision for her as I genuinely think she loved little mix. With the illness she has though it's probably one of the worst careers to be in as the focus on your life is immense and that brings alot of pressure. |

This is so sad . The news I didn’t want to read but was low-key expecting it. I’m glad Jesy is putting her mental health first. Health is wealth!

it was inevitable she was leaving, i think they were just giving her time to properly decide what she wanted to do.
if it makes her happy + keeps her healthy then that's the best anybody can wish for her. she's 100% going solo, it's written all over her statement. it's clear she didn't like the pressures of having to conform to a certain look, sing certain music + the constant backlash she received was ultimately not worth it for her in the end. i think, on her terms, she'll have a different take on it all. she'll be the driving force + she can do what she wants, however she wants to do it. one thing that intrigued me is her message to the girls, it left me a little cold. thanking them + hoping they'll fulfil all of their dreams, making music people love? the lack of something along the lines of "thanks for your support, you're my sisters, i love you etc" feels a little odd to me. |

Feels like you’re reading too far into it. The girls have been very clear in the past that not everything they do is public. They would’ve done their goodbyes and their soppy speeches to each other a while ago. Why dig it up again? I also don’t think it’s fair to look for something that isn’t there considering from the beginning they’ve all supported each other. |
