I think Hero will be an easy qualifier, but at the same time I'm never really sure if people that already know them (which in the case of Hero is probably quite a lot) self-penalise the songs from Eurovision national selections.
I always think the big fan favourite NF entries will do well in BJSC too but a lot of the time they don't quite live up to expectations...like Cicciolina and Andromeda both sounded like easy top tens and weren't. We have had some do very well though in the past, like Butterflies by Tone Damli and Alcazar's Stay The Night, and I'm sure there were a few sent by Ramrynia too. I've still yet to send one although I was considering an obscure 90s Melodifestivalen entry recently. |

On my first listen I had Singerpurear and Sovarasma as two of the most likely qualifiers!
Also I really can't be dealing with Quintessa DNQing with an 18 potential in the other semi for a second contest in a row. I'm not expecting to qualify, I just hope I can interest a few people into becoming fans. But I hope the Semi 1 results look better than that! |

That's the honour of being the first prediction. No one means anything by it, it just gives an opportunity for people to raise their hopes/thoughts in agreement or against them (more likely against, if they disagree).
I tend to make my predictions closer to the end of the voting period so I have as little impact on people's votes and perceptions of songs before they listen as possible. But that's just something I do. |

I never predict cos I can't separate what I like from what I think will qualify. If some obvious great tracks strike me as being potential strugglers to qualify then I'll hype them a bit and hope it helps give them a bit more of a listen.

Here are my - bound to be incorrect - predictions for Semi #1. I split the songs up into three categories: Dance, Pop and Everything Else and then tried to see what stood out in each group. There is a lot of pop and dance here so I assume a those songs will be around 10-15 of the qualifiers with the rest making up the remaining 10-5 songs.
I actually hope I'm not right about this because I'm voting for a few of the songs I'm predicting to DNQ so hopefully I'm wrong on some things here but BJSC's taste is so hard to predict lmao. 01. Skall, Aelandor, Buzzjack Mountain, Singerpurear and Suedeonia are a little harder to predict as some of them are quite niche and I have absolutely no idea what that voting block usually goes for.
