Yes it’s a little disappointing so far. Especially because I really like this album. It’s strong. I think it will take a re-release with some new tracks to drum up interest again because the best opportunities for single releases have been used now!

Hopefully the album gets a boost from the Graham Norton performance and re-enters the charts!

Keeping everything crossed! They are performing on there aren't they? They need to get their album back in the charts again and with a big performance like that it shouldn't be too hard. Really want this album to go gold it's probably 25-30k away???

Im lead to believe they are performing so based on that i too would hope to see the album back in the charts, i really want the album to go gold aswell but its not likely to happen without a new version or we will have to wait a long time for it to happen, i think the album has its best single opportunities already released so without a new version it will be hard to keep the campaign alive as prior to covid their tours would have helped sales.

A new edition would in normal times be based around their tour and with the current situation they could decide on not releasing and work on material for a new album instead.

What The Future Holds is now my most played album of all time.
So excited we are getting 2.0 with new tracks. I can't stop listening to Heartbreak In This City either.

What's going on with the Tour? I haven't paid close enough attention as I'm in Canada. But I'd absolutely hop across the pond for their Tour, if safe to do so.

The What the Future Holds picture disc is rather cheap on Amazon at the moment - £8.73: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08HMSBF9T/

For the past day or so it's been dropping a few pennies in price every few hours. I keep cancelling and re-ordering it laugh.gif (I initially bought it on Saturday evening when it was £9.29).

Ordered! Thanks for the tip Jay!

Have also ordered the Tears on the Dancefloor deluxe edition vinyl as that was also reasonable at £13.85.

Loving the What The Future Holds picture disc vinyl! Played it to my partner who was hearing it for the first time and she remarked how strong an album it was, we figured it's probably partly because the top songwriters essentially all just send their best 'cheesy pop' compositions to Steps now, as - maybe Dua Lipa aside - none of the current popstars focus as much on melody and big choruses like the 90s/00s popstars did.

The Tears On The Dancefloor vinyl is a mixed bag though - the album remains one of my favourites of the last decade and the packaging is gorgeous, I love the inclusion of the lyrics and such high quality imagery from that era, but the sound quality of the records really sounds quite muddy compared to the What The Future Holds vinyl. Maybe it's just me?

I've only just got the TOTD vinyl and I agree the sound quality is a bit poor on the vinyl I don't think I will be choosing to listen to it again and will stick to the CD from now on. I do think that Tears On The Dancefloor is their best album though by a mile!

I do love what the future holds but TOTD is the better of the 2 albums. Occasionally vinyl can have dudes in sound quality and when it happens it's very disappointing.
