How the hell has Holly Humberstone gone straight to the B-list? She's only ever been playlisted once before and she's not exactly setting the charts alight. Is there some mad hype about her that I've missed??
'Heartbreak Anthem' is literally the only new addition I know this week. Hope they add the new Jake Bugg and Vaccines singles at some point. Also not sure what's going on with Tom Odell, are they done with him? This post has been edited by Mangø: 28th May 2021, 08:18 AM |

do I smell some payola going on then re Holly?
very odd that Galantittle Mixuetta only go to C List this week too when its clearly going to be a big big hit. didn’t realise Solomon song was on R1s radar either, that’s another Lewis BJSC entry that gone on to be play listed then! |

It's great to see Wolf Alice, Jorja, CHVRCHES and London Grammar all move up.
I'm not surprised about the Holly Humberstone add. Radio 1 have been supporting her heavily over the past 6 months (she came second in their Sound of 2021 poll) and it was a hottest record for Annie, which means it was guaranteed daytime playlist support. Regardless, it's a great song and deserves it's spot on the B list. Also happy to see Architects, Ray BLK (I think this is her best track yet) and Solomun (a dance banger) get added, although it's sad to see Baby Queen and Chloe Moriondo go so soon. Elkka is such a great pick for BBC Introducing. A lovely bit of electronic music; hopefully she can follow in the footsteps of TSHA and Jayda G and get some proper playlist support. I normally defend their decisions on songs being added straight to the A / B-List but even I am fairly stumped on how Holly Humberstone is a B-List add
I guess they are just trying to push her to justify her placing 2nd in Sound of 2021 SL/M1llionz being added now seems a little weird, they are sometimes slow to add UK rap hits but this is one that was very briefly a minor hit but dropped out of the chart several weeks ago, it's a pretty solid tune though. Good to see Elkka as the Introducing track too (although I like 'Alexandra' by her more than 'Burnt Orange'). Was not really a fan of 'Tuk Tuk' in BJSC, found it a little annoying oops |

To be fair I had forgotten that they playlisted Daði Freyr last year and even now that seems like a bizarre decision. I'm still not convinced they'll playlist Måneskin but I'm willing to be proved wrong.
