I used to be such a HUGE fan, but Loud Like Love was so bad that it's gonna take a lot to convince me they haven't completely lost it.

I'll see what they come up with...

same

well in truth their albums are never greats, it's a mix of great singles+some album filler+some bizarre wtf tracks

I got their first 5 albums and then they kinda lost me

but after all this time, hopefully they've hd time to work on songs and also grown up musically

I think Without You I’m Nothing is a great album, love most of the tracks on it. Especially non-single Allergic (To Thoughts of Mother Earth)

A completely and utterly brilliant album from start to finish. wub.gif

Probably very high up on my all-time faves if I were to compile a list.

Well, it's better than anything from the last album so that's something!

I like some of the 80s influences in it. His vocal definitely does sound a lot more "matured" these days.

It's alright... sounds very much like a retread of (at least) one of their previous songs but I can't quite put my finger on which it is

Hope this is good! 🤞

Last album was awful, but the first single of this one gave me a bit of hope they haven't completely lost it.

Second single 'Surrounded By Spies' coming on 9th November, along with the album pre-order.

I only know a couple of their older songs so I don't know how it compares to their wider discography but I surprisingly(?) actually really like 'Beautiful James'. Looking forward to the second single to see if that was just a fluke or not. x

^you should check their back catalogue, maybe their Best Of, cannot recall how it was called, but they had incredible singles from 1996 to 2005
so many classics... Pure Morning and Nancy Boy are probably their most popular but all their singles were pretty good, a very consistent band

really miss the days when a band like placebo could release a single and would easily go top 5, now they wouldn't even go top 1000 probably :/

I think 'Every You Every Me' is probably hugely well-known, and perhaps 'The Bitter End' too.

But yeah, seriously incredible back catalogue and high recommended!

It's nice, a tad repetitive in places though.

The album now has a tracklist, and a release date of 25th March.

1. Forever Chemicals
2. Beautiful James (4:08)
3. Hugz
4. Happy Birthday in the Sky
5. The Prodigal
6. Surrounded by Spies (5:14)
7. Try Better Next Time
8. Sad White Reggae
9. Twin Demons
10. Chemtrails
11. This Is What You Wanted
12. Went Missing
13. Fix Yourself

new single out today Try Better Next Time
I really like the 2 previous singles (Beautiful James, Surrpunded by Spies) but I'm struggling a bit with this one

I don't really like this one on the first listen. That chorus is so repetitive that it annoyed me by the end of the song.

I really liked 'Surrounded By Spies' as well, 'Try Better Next Time' is not as great as the first two singles but still another good one imo - will definitely check out the album when it drops.

This is actually a rather good album! Thankfully a million times better than their last.

Consider me back on board!
