There are any comedy shows that you felt were never funny at all?
I think of On The Buses, Benidorm and Mrs Brown's Boys. |

Benidorm started off funny! But the later series were awful
Initially it was actually really funny though 100% agree on Mrs Browns Boys but that’s a very marmite show there’s as many people love it as despise it |

Benidorm series 1 & 2, parts of 3 were amazing, then it drastically went downhill.

Oh yes, Big Bang Theory that's a waste of transmission time.

On The Buses Not Going Out (Lee Mack is great on Would I Lie To You, but I never got into this) Rising Damp (loved by many, including critics, but I just never found it funny ) Friends |

Laura, Ben & Him - an ITV2 sketch show from 2008 that was so unfunny it's rubbishness is forever etched in my brain. One of the "sketches" was one of the cast saying to the camera: "You know where is s***? The Isle of Wight. It was so bad I actually ate tissues". When a sketch is so bad you remember every word, despite only watching it once, it's either comedy genius or the worst thing you've ever seen. This is the latter.

and *whisper* I actually don't mind Mrs Brown's Boys. Although I can understand why it irks so many.

Pretty much any comedy that seems to think shouting, offensive stereotypes, or blaring laugh tracks are necessary to make you laugh (which nicely covers a good few mentioned so far!)

I also don't mind Mrs Brown tbh. The thing is its actually quite a good depiction of an Irish family! I didn't even realise she was played by a fella at first.

Will & Grace
Family Guy The Big Bang Theory The Royle Family How I Met Your Mother Mrs. Brown's Boys Most “comedy” shows aren’t really that funny, but these are the obvious ones for me that are really popular in the ratings or critically acclaimed. |

Pretty much any comedy ever aired on CBS or created by Chuck Lorre or featuring a laugh track. Prime examples being King of Queens, Kevin Can Wait, Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Men, Anger Management etc.
Obviously Mrs Browns Boys has zero redeeming qualities too, but that’s not a “comedy show” and now rightly considered a war crime and Brendan O’Carroll with have to answer to the United Nations for it. |

Two and a Half Men
Sienfield HIMYM Big Canned Laughter Theory Later seasons of Modern Family The few dodgy episodes of Friends and Will and Grace "I knew you were likely yo take a wife!! Happy Vegas Versary!!!" etc. Some lines/ episodes really dragged Friends down at times. The WandG reboot had some v bad episodes too. Hope and Faith |

I found Frasier difficult to watch at times - purely because of Frasier and his massive ego.

Almost every British ITV Sitcom of the 60's, 70's, bar Rising Damp, was terrible. Whatever anyone thinks of modern sitcoms go and try and watch Love Thy Neighbour, Father Dear Father, On The Buses and Mrs Brown won't seem so bad. Even the BBC sitcoms were over-rated, it's much easier to list the good ones than try to list the bad ones.
It's hard for me to talk about bad modern comedy shows cos if I don't like an episode I try out I don't watch it so I can't give a rounded opinion of it. Now we have a vast range of choice, unlike the bad old days when there were 2 channels and it was take it or leave it. |
