It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas > A song that's been done to death. Not sure I've really ever got the hype over any version, but I do like this one - obvz looool. < 07.5 03. Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You) > A BOP. I love this one a LOT. Hope it can somehow gain some traction and become a hit of some sort. < 10.0 04. Merry Christmas (To the One I Used To Know) > This is very Disney Princess! I can definitely imagine it in a Disney movie. Ugh. She'd be the perfect Princess. It's so nice! < 08.0 05. Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree > Another one that's been done to death. This is cute, but it ain't my fave version. < 07.0 06. Glow > This could be a grower, once I get used to Chris' voice at least. It's good. A bit all over the place and needs another listen or two I think, but niiiice. < 07.0 07. Santa Baby > Her voice is too big and powerful for this song which I always thought suited the more minimal & sensual vocals a lot better. But I've never really cared for this song tbh. Decent but meh. Another song that has been overdone. < 06.0 08. Santa, Can't You Hear Me > I LOVE THIS!!! WOWWWW. Their voices go so well together!  < 10.009. Last Christmas > Very classy. A version you'd hear in a jazz or wine bar or something. It's rather lovely and different to the other versions out there! < 07.0 10. Jingle Bell Rock > A cute version! She has such a consistent and "classy" sound throughout this album and it really suits her. The fun in this song is still felt! < 07.5 11. Blessed > OH THIS IS GORGEOUS! HOLY WOW! SHIVERS. OBSESSED SHIIIIIITTTTTT!!!! < 10.0 12. Christmas Come Early > Really, really nice! Really quite beautiful! Quite haunting and really lovely! < 08.0 13. Under the Mistletoe > This is so underrated! Such a bop. Glad it's on an album now! < 09.0 14. All I Want For Christmas Is You > I heard this once and never went back to it. But it's cute. Think I was just upset it wasn't a cover of Mariah lmao. < 06.0 15. Christmas Eve > YYYYAAAASSSS!!! BOP BOP BOP! SO UNDERRATED. Glad it's on the album! < 10.0 --- Nowhere near as good as 'Wrapped In Red' but honestly did anyone expect it to be? The originals are so, SO strong though. It's the covers that kinda drag this down a little, but that's OK for a Christmas album. Especially as they're really not that bad. 'Blessed' is seriously stunning though. I'm still recovering from the spine tingles. I love the Ari duet too and 'Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You)' is incred. A solid follow up tbh. A bit more mature and a lot of "classy" moments that really hone in on her soulful and powerful vocals. |

Although I'm not feeling at all festive yet I did have a listen because Kelly, and it's good! Looking forward to delving into it more in December.
Merry Christmas Baby, Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You), Santa, Can't You Hear Me, Blessed and Christmas Come Early have all been added to my Christmas playlist. Not sure I'll return to any of the covers though. |

The covers are entirely superfluous (and actually not great arrangements for the most part) but the originals are fantastic. Blessed is Kelly by numbers but when the numbers are THAT good who cares. Santa is also brilliant. Added everything bar the covers to my Christmas playlist.

Completely agree, I guess the rendition of Last Christmas is vaguely interesting to hear in that style but I'm not going to take it over Wham!
I should mention, when I said had a listen, I actually bought the CD! Contributing to no doubt tens of UK sales she'll get from a Christmas album in October. |
