At least their covers, which look gorgeous, don’t get ruined with loads of text at the bottom trying to promote all their featured artists.

I’m still surprised that Now 117 sold more than what Now 116 did in its first week considering the latter was released near to Christmas and considering Now 117 was nearly full of songs which missed Now 116, it still managed to sell more. This is why they shouldn’t go overboard with the album artists and kick off with a random song. I also reckon that Now 117 would’ve sold more in its first week if it had been released before Easter

Germany's Bravo Hits 125, out next Friday, is looking very fresh in terms of current huge hits. Hozier, Artemas, Dasha, Ariana, Michael Marcagi etc. Gives a good indication that all of those should be on Now 118.
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Various-Artists/...5844912-4893358 It's also got the German Eurovision entry from ISAAK, and curiously the Swedish entry from Marcus and Martinus, so they must be anticipating big things for that. |

Now Rock Anthems due for release on 31st May just in time for the Father’s Day market https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D1JBLYHF Contains most of the same tracks that were on the previous NOW Rock compilation released in 2021 Now That's What I Call Rock Why not put completely different tracks on instead? The last release wasn't that long ago, i'm sure can still probably be found in HMV. |

As long as people buy them, they'll keep churning them out as it's minimum effort and perhaps they have the songs licensed for a certain amount of time and they're trying to maximise the use of them. The country album gets a refreshed release every year or two with nearly the same songs on it.
I'm glad they didn't try to push the Eurovision album again this year though. |

I’d rather they announced Now Millennium 2006-2007 and they should also speed up the yearbooks, millennium series and 12" 80s series

They also have NOW K-Pop and NOW 90 coming out soon. They've told us that Benson Boone and Dua Lipa are on so far. Tracklist confirmed now with a couple of tracks that we could see feature on the next UK volume? |

At least they include certain genres on their albums unlike the UK which don’t bother with that particular genre and also, I wonder if Now Millennium 2006-2007 will include both versions of Valerie or just the Amy Winehouse version? I hope they include both versions of the song. They did include both versions of Don't Stop Believin' on Now 75

If it includes anything already on the main Yearbook or Extra then it's a waste of everybody's time.
If it's songs they couldn't previously license, US/global hits, b-sides or album tracks then I'll be interested. |

If it's songs they couldn't previously license, US/global hits, b-sides or album tracks then I'll be interested. Even if that is the case, it’s almost like an open admission that the previous offering is no longer complete and it undervalues the series as a whole. It’s like rushing into a product unfinished, and then releasing a different version later with some missing gaps. The same process is then repeated again the next time something from that time period becomes available. Imagine if Now suddenly acquired the back catalogue to Michael Jackson’s music, or even Madonna, that would be enough for them to choose to revamp the entire yearbook series so as to include those big name hits that were missed on the previous version. It just seems messy, and always changing, and whose go say that on a future spin-off compilation they lose the rights to some artists they have now as has happened before. It’s a fine line but you can never reach perfection, just put out a reasonably good offering from the pool of songs you have available and stamp your mark on it and then move onto another time period, stop coming back to the same years again and again, which invariably are in the 80s. |

Oh! Really deep cuts
At least not a rehash of what’s gone before. But none of the huge stars that were previously missing. I suppose the general idea then is like a yearly version of Now 80s Alternative from last year. This post has been edited by gooddelta: 25th April 2024, 06:39 AM |

They could’ve included Rod Stewart seeing as he missed out. I don’t see why they always include him on 70s compilations but never on 80s compilations and I hope they don’t do an extra vault yearbook and if they wanted to include Level 42, they should’ve included The Chinese Way instead of Out Of Sight Out Of Mind and to be honest, they don’t need to scrape the barrel with 1983. Just focus on the main and extra yearbooks, not the vault yearbooks

Clearly just another way to rinse money out of the 80s, I suppose giving it the Yearbook name will mean more sales from collectors.
This is essentially Now Yearbook 1983 Extra Extra. Many of these songs charted between 30-75 or not at all. I bet there's a lot of profit for Now to be made from these non-hits, from an era they know 80s music lovers will lap up anyway. I suspect it must surely be a licensing issue with Rod Stewart or they would include his 80s material. Did he switch labels in the 80s? He switched labels in the 70s. 1977 I think which is why I don’t get why they include his 70s songs and not his 80s songs. They do the same with Michael Jackson minus One Day In Your Life which still gets included. I hope with the other vaults that they include songs which made the top 40 but never appeared on the yearbooks and artists which they previously couldn’t license ie Bruce Springsteen and Pet Shop Boys and they should’ve got 1987 and 1989 out of the way first before moving to the vault and I’d rather they announce Now Millennium 2006-2007. I’d rather they milked the 00s than the 80s and they seemed to milk the 00s on Now 100 disc 2 as most of the songs on there were from the 00s This post has been edited by Hadji: 25th April 2024, 10:03 AM |
