6 years already! Anymore was such a strong song to launch the campaign I have a soft spot for Dear Life even though it doesn't seem to be well liked in the fan base. Room for Love another strong single.

Anymore is such a song! Always thought loving you better was the missed single (not that it would have done anything).

This album was necessary for her to understand she needed a change. VOM is a small step forward. Probably the key to Melanie C the album. She tried but she didn’t dare. That’s why she did way better with the follow-up.

I liked the album a lot upon its initial release too but I very rarely go back to it now Melanie C still sounds much fresher! |

Some nice tracks but I never quite enjoyed this album. Anymore was the right lead single but the chorus makes me cringe, just doesnt sound convincing to me...
Dear Life is ok as an opener for the album but not a single, so obviously Mel released it lol..... Loving You Better was good and should have been the follow up singles rather than the awful Hold On. Apart from those, I dont really like the rest of the songs anymore. I think at points her voice really grates on me. I'm glad she followed up with self-titled as that was a much better record and progression. The fact that Melanie C was successful though, has a lot more to do with the post-Spice tour landscape where she had: 1) a lot more money to invest in a long-form campaign 2) her profile was much much more visible than before 2018 3) she did a lot more than just small gigs 4) she had multiple formats available for her album, whereas before she would do 1 or 2 at most |

It also helps that she had 3 singles released prior to the album which were all highly featured on Radio 2 and she released in a much lower sales climate. What will be really interesting is to see whether she can continue similar success with the next record, I think she could easily get another top 10 hopefully top 5 if she plays it right. |

I hated that she used the Spice Girls name negatively to sell this record.
