Couldn't remember if there was a thread for this already for 2000-2015, but feel free to merge if there is.
This has just come to my attention, apparently it has been a viral/meme kind of moment in Australia ever since. Madison Avenue performed a medley of two of their hits at the ARIA awards in 2000, and lead singer Cheyne stopped to ask for a glass of water, which subsequently played quite a part in the performance as she didn't know what to do with it, and for some reason the camera wouldn't pan away from it, e.g. to do a close up of her instead so the glass of weird cloudy water was out of shot I love that it's also the thumbnail picture on YouTube. I've also always loved this 2011 performance from Steps, when they reformed the first time around and sang It's The Way You Make Me Feel on This Morning. Some serious fanning action and over the top singing coming, of course, from Lisa Scott-Lee. No doubt plenty of iconic BRITs performances could fit this category too. What are your favourite live performances of the era and why? This post has been edited by gooddelta: 9th October 2023, 03:20 PM |

This was particularly memorable but probably not for the right reasons. |

Honestly every time one of the 00's girl groups gave us everything at 7:43am on GMTV was beyond iconic!! That Girls Aloud one where one of them drops the fan prop and has to improvise and the camera does a shady close up of it on the floor- gold.

Oh my, 13 years? Really? It’s gone so fast!
I remember watching this at the time and thinking it was great. She really went global after this. |

I thought we should have a thread dedicated to iconic, infamous and incredible live performances from the 00s and early 10s. Completely inspired by watching an old Amy Winehouse performance on YouTube earlier. Share your favourites here!
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black Amy asking for a banana daquiri before delivering a magnificent performance of Back to Black True icon. The audience were so lucky to witness it live. Adele - Someone Like You this was so unexpected on the night and the song completely blew up off the back of this performance. The music scene was almost exclusively uptempo at the time so this stood in the best way possible. Just Adele and the piano. Leona Lewis - Summertime Transcends the talent show standard and is imo one of the best live vocal performances I've ever heard. Adam Lambert - For Your Entertainment Absolutely ballsy of Adam to kiss a man on primetime US TV in 2009 and then getting banned by the AMAs! A moment for LGBT visibility before it became mainstream. |
