Despite only being released on Monday, The Hunna - NY to LA has already made it to #7. Also, Bastille, who released Quarter Past Midnight on Wednesday, made it to #25 and Snow Patrol released Empress on Tuesday and got to #26. Expect them to rise. (I know this is slightly late, but I've been at the IOW Festival all weekend!) Hello all! This week's #1 is Born to Be Yours, a collaboration between Kygo & Imagine Dragons, which has gone straight to the top. Last week's #1, Give Yourself a Try by The 1975, only falls 1 place to #2. Arctic Monkeys' Four Out of Five and Years & Years' If You're Over Me become the first songs to re-enter the top 10 on my chart, after coming back to my interest after AM's Live at the BBC special and the hype of Years & Years' second album Palo Santo. Another song which makes its first appearance in my chart in the top 10 is indie band Bad Sounds, with Evil Powers, it is their first song ever to be playlisted by BBC Radio 1. Another new entry to the top 10 is OneRepublic ft. Logic, with Start Again, which finally reaches the top 10 after 4 previous weeks in the chart. The other three new entries to my top 10 are Catfish and the Bottlemen's 2014 indie banger Kathleen and new music from Martin Garrix ft. Khalid and Sigma. Paul McCartney's first new single in 5 years, Come On to Me, debuts at #28, expect that to rise! An unlikely entry to my chart this week is rapper Juice WRLD's song Lucid Dreams, I'm not usually into this genre of rap (or much rap in general), but this song has really interested me and I'm really enjoying it. Next week, expect to see new entries from Panic! at the Disco's new album Pray for the Wicked and as I've been at the Isle of Wight Festival, some entries from some of the artists I saw (especially Blossoms, Tom Grennan,b Kasabian, The Killers and Manic Street Preachers). See you next week! 1. Kygo & Imagine Dragons - Born to Be Yours (1) 2. The 1975 - Give Yourself a Try (1-1-2) 3. Arctic Monkeys - Four Out of Five (1-1-3-12-7-3) 4. Bad Sounds - Evil Powers (4) 5. Hello all! This week's chart features a number of new entries and some re-entries from artists who were at the Isle of Wight Festival this year, which was amazing! The Killers were a particular stand out for me, and their second single Run for Cover from their latest album Wonderful Wonderful has re-entered at #1, after originally peaking at #4 a few weeks ago. Other IOW Festival artists in my chart include Manic Street Preachers at #2 and #15, The Killers make a second appearance at #8, Blossoms at #14 and Tom Grennan at #27. OneRepublic's latests single Connection debuts at #17, definitely expect that to rise, as I've been loving it recently! So I'm attempting this again haha. Obviously this is the first chart, so all of them are new! (also I'm going to keep songs to be under a year old - unless there's a special circumstance (Christmas, released as a single, etc) to avoid it being completely full of The 1975! 1. The 1975 - The 1975 2. The Struts - Pegasus Seiya 3. Martin Garrix - These Are the Times (feat. JRM) 4. Neck Deep - She's a God 5. The 1975 - TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME 6. Blossoms - Your Girlfriend 7. Hey Violet - Queen of the Night 8. Pale Waves - Noises 9. SWMRS - Trashbag Baby 10. Alessia Cara - Ready 11. Sabaton - 82nd All the Way 12. AJ Tracey - Ladbroke Grove 13. Deco - Dreamer 14. Vic Mensa & 93PUNX - 3 Years Sober (feat. Travis Barker) 15. blink-182 - Blame It On My Youth 16. Roseburg - RIP (feat. Kellin Quinn) 17. The Clause - In My Element 18. Two Door Cinema Club - Satisfaction Guaranteed 19. The 1975 - It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) 20. Busted - Shipwrecked in Atlantis 21. Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes - Latex Dreams 22. SWMRS - Lose Lose Lose 23. Ava Max - So Am I 24. The Manatees - Headstrong 25. Roam - Pirannah 26. Boy George & Culture Club - Let Somebody Love You 27. Grayscale - Painkiller Weather 28. The Chainsmokers & ILLENIUM - Takeaway (feat. Lennon Stella) 29. The 1975 - I Like America & America Likes Me 30. Marshmello - One Thing Right (feat. Kane Brown) 31. Sam Fender - Will We Talk? 32. PVRIS - Death of Me 33. The Sherlocks - Magic Man 34. Sam Smith - How Do You Sleep? 35. Seaway - Pleasures 36. Slaves - One More Day Won't Hurt 37. Tom Grennan - City of Stars 38. Sea Girls - Open Up Your Head 39. Two Door Cinema Club - Talk 40. Taylor Swift - ME! (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco) The 1975 are of course this week's #1 - despite having just 1 day out! Their self-titled new track is the first from their upcoming fourth album 'Notes on a Conditional Form', but is not the single (which is 'People' out on August 22). Usually I'd talk about the new entries here, but they all are! The Struts feature at #2 with their theme tune from the new Netflix anime Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac - which I was planning to watch anyway. So I was pleasantly surprised when their theme appeared on Spotify! Martin Garrix rounds off the top #3 with his new track 'These Are the Times' featuring Jamaican singer Jaramye Jael Daniels - best known as JRM. Hey Violet feature at #8 with their new release 'Queen of the Night' - the third track to be released from their upcoming second album! There's also a fantastic acoustic version from their Vevo performance on YouTube. Next week look out for a high new entry from a certain 'Dominic Harrison'! |
