Hi. I did do a quick search but there doesn't really seem to be a place dedicated to just discussing past entries, artists that have been sent, rediscovering forgotten gems (unless i'm being completely blind and silly). Hope this thread is ok with the mods but basically post away anything you're rediscovering or randomly stumbling across in your travels! Be it a single song, EP or whole contest... Try and include contest number, country behind the song etc if possible too |

I lost ALL bjsc songs from my laptop a few months ago and have just started the task of getting them all back. So i'll be using this thread a lot for updates while i go through the whole year
Have managed to get back the essentials from LI and it's really the best contest i've been involved in. We could bottle the highlights into a compilation album, sell it and make a tonne of money off it, right? My playlist from it~ Kate Boy - Northern Lights Autre Ne Veut - Counting The Irrepressibles - Two Men In Love The Other Tribe - Skirts Chloe Howl - Rumour The Good Natured - 5-HT Elliphant - Down On Life Samantha Jade - What You've Done To Me Miriam Bryant - Push Play San Cisco - Beach Roses Gabor - Stars Goldroom - Sweetness Alive Woman E - You Stole That Summer Betty Who - Somebody Loves You Rachel Zeffira - The Deserters Willam/Detox/Vicki Vox - Boy Is A Bottom ALL essential and loads more from it too that i haven't included <3 |

Before my time in this competition, but Paul Kalkbrenner 'Sky & Sand' has to be one of the most inspired entries I've come across.

Absolute beaut And i forgot to mention the reason i even thought of this thread was because i've been spinning 'It Feels Good To Be Around You' from Skall a lot right now. Love when a song suddenly hits you harder than ever years after hearing it first. |

Gonna be the only one talking about one of their own songs here but I've been getting back into the pop noir of Mel Jade - Not That Serious these past few days.

It's not my favourite contest ever, but the best top 3 belongs to LI for sure. This is something I keep coming back to again and again: And I'm pleased to see it's now hit 250 000 YT views, because it was devastatingly underrated this time last year. Oh AND AND this is a good opportunity to revisit this: Staying tremendous. |

still prefer it to most of my own entries i always find myself going back to Taped Rai 'Shadow Of The Sun: Epilogue Pt. I & II' Ludovico Einaudi 'Experience (Starkey Remix)' Julianna Barwick 'Pyrrhic' and then others that weren't a discovery like TyDi / Cyril Hahn etc and then basic everything by N DNTN / Mdice / Skall |

I gave this zero in the semi final yet I now think it's one of the best pop songs never to appear on a Marina & The Diamonds album. |

There are various, but I have found these, after over a year, haven't got old yet:
Dead Can Dance - Opium (didn't even give points to this oop ) Alina Devecerski - Flytta Pa Dej Wild At Heart - Darling Chad Valley - Fall 4 U (and 2012 was the year I joined so I can't really go back much farther ) This post has been edited by Krusty Wombat: 23rd April 2014, 09:10 PM |

Yes. <3 I keep hoping it'll blow up more but I think the last wave of hype has finally died away for it. Haven't listened to it for a few months so I'm sure it'll sound lovely and fresh when I hear it again (I did overplay it quite a lot last year) I normally DO have an old BJSC song I'm looning over but can't think of any huge rediscoveries I'm having right now. Still have nearly every MP3 since my first contest arranged in a nice smart playlist that I put on some of the time so I'm sure there's something in there. Some classic Caerfyrddia entries like Sing Unto Me from XLVII (awful that it DNQed so anonymously) or Wear It Like A Crown from XXXVIII are entering my mind as I think. I should go back to the 2011/2012 contests more, although there are some entries there that I've played so much I'm not sure if they'd ever be 'new' again. |

I absolutely loved that entry, I voted for FSR Rontvia quite a lot back then as far as I know.
I'd love to go back to those times |

Well if we're going that far back, we needn't stay in 2009. Not overrated. |

I will never stop bemoaning the lack of market for this sort of thing. Launiça were so good (hi Charlie if you're reading). Never fails to make me feel a little bit more epic when I hear it. |
