As always, the last chart of the week will be going live on Wednesday and then once I add the data from it I will have the top 200 list ready to start publishing. Luckily I’m logged into my spreadsheets, buzzjsck and crownnote here on my phone but annoyingly my laptop broke tocsy as the screen froze and won’t change. I’ll try to get a new one in the January sales lol (I do actually need a new one so this gives me a proper excuse lol) it’ll just make life hard to publish it as like most software it’s easier to make the sheets and publish the charts on a laptop over a phone.
Anyway I’m gonna spend some time trying to load all the things I need on my phone now so I can get ahead as it’ll take longer on here, but here’s the thread up now. Contenders and also top albums incoming soon |

It’s much harder to write this up on a phone vs a laptop lmao i hope i get a new one soon
Doing a top 40 as it feels more representative. Expect less write up than last year tho lmao |

20: Red (Taylor’s Version) - Taylor Swift
Her first of 7 albums in the top 20!! Red had less of an impact this year, but it still had its strong points. The biggest hit in 2023 was a belated hit in The Moment I Knew making #2 in April/ may time! |

19: SOS - SZA
Released right at the end of 2022, SOS had 2 major Chart hits in Kill Bill and Conceited, both of which made the top three in early 2023. |

18: Born to Die - Lana Del Rey
Lana seems to be constantly viral on TikTok, with the several songs both released and unreleased trending at any one time. This album in particular, her debut, feeds a lot of this. A few songs from here were big hits, including global smash hit Summertime Sadness, Cola, Ride and National Anthem (aided by a killer demo) |

17: Fearless (Taylor’s Version) - Taylor Swift
Despite being released almost 3 years ago, fearless TV seemed to peak this year. It got a number one single with You’re Not Sorry in March and plays a nostalgic role in the Eras Tour. |

16 Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent - Lewis Capaldi
Buzzjack fave is here! Now I am by no means a Lewis Capaldi fan, but it does have some good songs! Overall, this album was decent, with my three main highlights being #1 single Heavenly Kind of State of Mind, and top 3 tracks Forget Me, Wish You The Best and How I’m Feeling Now. |

15: Barbie The Album - Various Artists
I think it’s fair to say Barbie dominated this summer! It was a decent film, but for me the soundtrack was the best part of it. The ones I had on repeat were Speed Drive, Dance The Night and Barbie World |

14: My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely - Lola Young
I first discovered Lola in September 2021 when I saw her open for Dermot Kennedy, and she racked up a few top 20 hits. This year, though, she really broke through, with 3 songs from this album making the top 10! |

13: THINK LATER - Tate McRae
Considering it came out 3 weeks ago this is impressive. Tate had another big year, though with her album dropping in Dec she wasn’t as prominent as she was last year. Viral greedy became her 5th #1 in October and has been a mainstay for the past few months. She followed it with yet another chart topper in exes in November, and in album release week she had 9 songs in the top 10, getting a 7th chart topper! Expect this to do well into the new yeat |

12: evermore - Taylor Swift
The 2nd and more underrated of her lockdown surprise albums, I’ve always loved evermore more than folklore. It holds one of her best ever songs (right where you left me) and this year its impact was spread out. Rwylm made #2 in Christmas 2022 and so continued its run into the new year, re entering in summer when performed as a surprise song and then again annually in December for evermore Sophie anniversary. Tolerate it Grew on me following the Eras Tour performance getting it up to #2 and the album got its first belated #1 in December when cowboy like me had streaming boost! It really deserves better, this is easily her best album in terms of lyrics and storytelling! |

11: Lover - Taylor Swift
Lover is my interchange fave TS album, alongside reputation and Red. This year, it finally got irs credit with it opening the eras tour and when cruel summer became a global smash hit |

10: Diamonds & Dancefloors - Ava Max
This was a bit of a messy rollout icl. Still, Ava produced another brilliant album full of dance pop bops! Dancings done topped my chart in January and she made a few top 10s from it as well! |

9: Quarter Life Crisis - Baby Queen
It’s been a long time coming but this November Baby Queen dropped her debut album. It’s got some tunes on it, and its roll out has been ongoing since my charts began! 4 #1 hits from it, and currently her biggest hit is still surviving the Christmas rush! |

8: Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd - Lana Del Rey
Lana came back with another album in March, and what an album it is. It’s one of those that feels perfectly put together when played start to finish, though that’s the only time I play the interludes lmao. She got her first chart topper from it with Taco Truck x VB and A&W is one of the best songs ever! What a moment! And I feel like each time I listen a new song stands out to me! |
