Surprise!
It’s been well over two years since the last Movie Forum Song Contest… so it is definitely overdue a return to BuzzJack! It was way back in 2021 I ran the last one of these, and coming out on top was Bal with his blockbuster anthem by Lorde from the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1; ————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Having passed up his chance to host this contest, I have offered to once again, and this time, I’ve decided we will celebrate some of the best music by from musicals made into movies over the years, particularly highlighting lesser known songs from such films. A musical is defined as "a genre of film and television that incorporates into the narrative songs sung by the characters." For reference, here is a list of the Top 100 Greatest Musicals on IMDb which may help you make your choice; https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000071646/ Here are some guidelines to assist in making your choices for this contest;
2. An artist must not currently have an Artist Forum on BuzzJack. 3. A song must not have been entered into a Movie Forum Song Contest previously. 4. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served. 5. A movie will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served. 6. Vetoes may be given for any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage. Happy searching! oh my god one of my favourite musicals is being adapted into a movie but it isn't out yet so the only soundtrack available is from the actual musical which is a different cast
I'll need to have a think x *Edit - I've sent you a PM Wardy, I'll reconfirm if it's not allowed This post has been edited by Linds.: 28th December 2023, 10:48 PM |

Just for clarity... are we including films of stage shows? (i.e. 'Hamilton' & 'Waitress' etc..) or are you wanting it to be specifically a movie musical in the traditional sense? (i.e. the 'Dear Evan Hansen' movie from 2021 and not the stage show)

I hadn’t thought of that, but yes, if you think it would be good to include for variety then I’m all for it, it gives people more scope to choose from. |

I have entered a song from a musical that kinda felt like it flew under the radar a little due to it being a streaming release during the pandemic. The movie is SO good and the soundtrack is amaze!
EDIT: LOL! Maybe not! |

I have reconfirmed!
I adore this song. But I don't want to be as "obvious" as this choice. So I will look through the week for another entry I would be happy to send. But I want to confirm something in case I forgot! |

Less than 12 hours to go and still not enough participants to warrant a song contest, so unless numbers pick up quickly I’m afraid we will have to cancel this event.

I think I'll give a shot. This might only be my possible entry from the theme but if it's ineligible, I'm sorry to say I will be out of the contest. I'm quite lacking in musical film knowledge.
