Thanks for the prediction of Kelis winning. I don't think she will though o;
On a side note, she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING on Saturday night ! Completely obsessed with her currently. She even did the Milkshake/Holiday remix ! |

I can't really see 'Home' being added to this weeks Radio 1 playlist, seeing as 'Acapella' only has it's physical release this week...
Anyway, I might do this later, after I've voted. |

Hence the question saying 'song OR artist' - consider BoB/Alexandra Burke etc...included in that too as they all feature on the current playlist, just not with their specific BJSC entries! It's only a bonus question anyway, thought I'd make a few of them a bit different from the norm I'm not as massively confident in Home winning as I was at the start, it has to be said. The Pretty Reckless might just snatch it. I've seen it in a LOT of personal charts of BJSC people, whereas I can't say I've seen Home in any - not that this necessarily means anything - a lot of people either don't chart BJSC entries, or won't chart it until it gets an official single release. |

The Pretty Reckless are #71 on BJ Multichart already! Would it be amazing if they won?! The debut contest and a win - it's extremely hard these days

The Pretty Reckless are #71 on BJ Multichart already! Would it be amazing if they won?! The debut contest and a win - it's extremely hard these days Obviously that's not all down to BJSC - it's an upcoming new UK single too, and most of the charts it appears in are non-BJSC contenders. Much like Caro Emerald scraping into the multichart last month. Wondering how this could possibly be when it only came 12th, it seems that a lot of the people charting it were just Dutch members posting their charts up What's really impressive is when a song makes the multichart solely because of the contest - which happens every now and then! Bigzarafan has a big shot at winning too, so we could definitely be heading over to a brand new country to host next month! |

Many people who participate in BJSC stated their love to them (even Jack and Gary!), plus being the soundtrack to 'Kick Ass' (although played in the very end ) might help a little!
I guess people just love popular TV shows' female (! lol) stars who start bands! |

lol is Pretty Reckless playlisted on Radio 1? Yes - I've posted up the playlist link for people if they're not sure (it's in the question) Just thought it would be interesting to see if a currently Radio 1 playlisted song can indeed win the contest for a 5th consecutive month following Under The Sheets/Hollywood/Halcyon/Good Times. I wouldn't say most of these are at all cheap (it's not like somebody's sending Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart - which would indeed be eligible to send ) but it's an interesting statistic that something that hasn't either been at the time radio playlisted or massively overhyped on the internet hasn't won the contest for almost a year now. I wonder how long it will be until something unknown by everyone but the sender will break through and win again, if ever? Or do the radio playlisted songs simply win because they are indeed the current cream of the crop - clearly there's a reason some of the unknown songs entered to BJSC wouldn't ever be played on the radio - cheap production values/trashy lyrics being a big factor in a lot of songs for example. |

I bet last winner had no clue that it was going to be playlisted...I think the same goes with Jamora. and a lot of people do sent unknown songs constantly (inc. me this time ) but I put the blame on 80% english participants who prefer to give their points to songs that are playlisted/charting on big markets (UK,US,Germany,Sweden etc etc). |

Oh I know, it's a bit of a random coincidence - especially Good Times which blew up out of nowhere in the space of about three weeks, and appeared on the playlist about 3 days before the final results I try to give my points to my top discoveries, it just so happens that a lot of us hear new singles via BJSC because we haven't got round to hearing them elsewhere first. I gave both Good Times and Hollywood 10 points so I'm as much to 'blame' as anyone else but I do just vote for my favourite songs now and don't give penalties out unless a song is obviously a ridiculous entry, like somebody sending the current UK #1 to the contest. Obviously unknown songs/artists have to work a lot harder for people's attention than those that people are already familiar with and already love, hence why unknowns practically never win unless the song is universally appealing and incredibly instant. |

I would love to see another BJSC defining winner, something that would never be a chart hit, like Black Butta/Will You Remember Me Tomorrow/Robots In Love. But a lot of 'BJSC classics' or at least the ones I put on my 'Best of BJSC' compilation the other month finished in 2nd place like I Don't Know/The Fear, Lonely (Are You Coming Home), M.A.G.I.C., Wind It, Now I'm That Bitch (remix), Music Everywhere, Miss Jamaica, Your Body Is A Machine, Zombie, Come On Over and Marchin' In. All amazing, 'contest only' songs (well until Lily unexpectedly released I Don't Know as her comeback single and had a huge smash with it) |

The Pretty Reckless are #71 on BJ Multichart already! Would it be amazing if they won?! The debut contest and a win - it's extremely hard these days That would be a great achievement, though I won't get hopes up as there is some great competition in this Contest! I heard of The Pretty Reckless a few months back as they were supporting 'The Veronicas' on their Tour. I liked their sound and then this beast as Debut Single. Loved it on 1st listen and it seemed the kind of song that was different but have mass appeal too. I hope this prediction thread doesn't influence votes in a positive/negative way though . Keep it fair people. |

Keep it fair people. Shame I missed that Was it in the UK? I wouldn't worry too much about people's predictions, they're quite often way off the mark And though I've been known to jump on hype bandwagons with predictions from time to time, I've never changed my view on a song based on the opinions posted in these threads. The ones posted already all differ drastically apart from Kelis/B.o.B/Pretty Reckless/Melua as most likely for the top three. The song Pavel is predicting to come last I don't think will do anywhere near that badly for example. |
