Ed Sheeran was the top-selling album of last year. Surely it would be a bit better to have a different album at #1 for this year? Not the very same album.. I agree. Last time this happened was when Simply Red's album "Stars" was best-selling album of 1991 and 1992 and Emeli Sandé's album which was the best-selling album of 2012 nearly became the best-selling album of 2013 but good job 1D prevented this |

Right... I wasn't expecting these we have mids for today, just going to post the top 5 with sales, the rest is open to requests.

I think his point was that if it were to be between Sam Smith or Ed Sheeran if nothing else comes along, he'd prefer Ed to get it (and I'm in agreement).

Looks like "Shine" could make #1 after all and 5H could be safe for top 3 too!

wow, it's gonna be seriously close tomorrow night. I don't think Years & Years will be able to overtake the 2.3k gap though, David Zowie is very lucky that it's only a 5 day sales week otherwise he wouldn't have a chance of getting the #1 single.

If Y&Y and Zowie sell the same today as they did yesterday, Y&Y will be number 1 tomorrow.
(Y&Y streaming is 3% and Zowie is 2% btw) This post has been edited by Joe.: 9th July 2015, 05:21 PM |

Shine sold 9.7k yesterday, while HEW sold only 6.3k, Shine could actually do it going to be very close.

Surprised they still do mids on a thursday now the chart is on a friday, but it looks like this is quite an exciting week after all! Going to be very close between the top two. Really hope Years & Years do it, but I am not that confident they can close the margin by tomorrow. If the chart was on saturday then Y&Y would probably have it in the bag.

This means some streaming data is still missing, right? Possibly. Because Avicii is still not there. Edit - in fact, yes, there must be. Looking at those figures, I think only Apple Music and the smaller streaming has been added, and nothing from Spotify... (But I'll take it as a positive that from the streaming they DO have, Y&Y are ahead on streaming) This post has been edited by Joe.: 9th July 2015, 05:35 PM |
