Blossoms have posted a teaser of a single from their upcoming fifth album, and they're going in quite a funky direction!

A different direction is promising. As much as I like Blossoms they’ve kinda become quite… consistent with their output Once you’ve heard one album you’ve heard them all

and it'll be Radio 1's Hottest Record on Wednesday! Good to see continued support for them, they've been around about a decade now so you never know when that will stop.

Yeah, continued support is great but it's still quite limited, R1 haven't playlisted them since 'Care For' in 2021 and I can't see them returning to daytime support. Looking forward to hearing their new stuff anyhow, Ribbon was a pretty good album so I've got high expectations for this one.

Interesting… I guess it matches when they changed their sound, they're a bit more Radio now I think (sound wise). They’re also independent now, which makes them even less likely to get good Radio 1 support. |

Here it is. This is apparently one of several songs they've worked on with Jungle! You can certainly hear their influence, and I think it works very well.

Who’s Gary 😅? Quite an interesting story behind this one! QUOTE “The video is directed by myself and my brother Ewan Ogden and it picks up where our last video left off. The song is based on a true story I heard on the radio last year – Gary the eight-foot fibreglass Gorilla was stolen from Reynard Garden in Carluke, Scotland,” explained the frontman of the visuals. “We’ve recreated the story on screen with Rick Astley playing Andrew Scott, the owner of the garden centre, and the band stealing Gary. This video was so much fun to make and was shot again on 16mm film, on location around Stockport, the Peak District, and Derbyshire. The song itself is the centrepiece of the album and after toying with different titles, we kept going back to Gary. In the end, it could only be ‘Gary’.” Check out the new track above, and promotional video featuring famous Garys – Gary Lineker, Gary Numan, and Gary Neville – below. |
