Mae said on her live stream that she is no longer with her management or record label.

I hope she gets the opportunity for releases in the future.

Not surprised by this and everyone should be able to speak their truth but always find it disappointing when artists discredit their Eurovision experience afterwards as I’m never convinced had she won or done better that she would be saying the same.
Off the back of Eurovision she got a Top 10 silver selling single and Top 40 album, I’m not convinced we’d have seen either without ESC. Hopefully she finds herself and the music she wants to make though and can have her ‘Raye’ moment. QUOTE Mae Muller claims her former record label pushed her to do 'traumatic' Eurovision song contest which made her lose 'authenticity' as she goes independent to 'get back to being me' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic..._immediate=true |

I do find a lot of the album better than I Wrote A Song and do wonder if she would have chose it as a single if Eurovision wasn’t in mind. Having said that, it has given her a hit that is clearly still getting some streams by it getting certified last week.
Whatever comes next, I hope she continues with pop. |

I imagine if ‘I Wrote A Song’ racked up the points last year her authentic self would be out the window and Eurovision would have been the best experience of her life.

I mean, I sort of get it and I think the whole experience has left her traumatised. I feel pretty bad for her really.

I imagine if ‘I Wrote A Song’ racked up the points last year her authentic self would be out the window and Eurovision would have been the best experience of her life. This, I get overall it might not have been the best decision for her in hindsight but she grabbed the opportunity and got more promo and exposure in 3 months than in the previous 3 years. And that’s what always gets me a bit - if she’d have come out of the show and had the same level of success as Sam I’m not convinced we’d be getting the comments she made. She also said on her live that she disliked ‘Better Days’ (Her only other Top 40) so guessing we’re going to get a totally different sound/direction from her. She’s really likeable and I bought her album so I hope she is able to salvage something from it all. |

I think she was banking on a result similar to Sam Ryder and not the result she got which I know would have to be disheartening but had it gone that way I think she would not be saying this.
