The Nights may have now spent 39 nights (11 bi-weeks) at #1, but a few recent entries are climbing up into the top 10 which could bring Avicii's streak to a halt Outside returns to the #2 spot, knocking Alone to #3, but Ellie Goulding's beautiful future hit from the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack has climbed to #6 on its third week. Does it stand a chance of getting #1 on Tuesday? Just behind it is another recent entry, from the next bizarre viral eletronic hit I'm An Albatraoz which climbs up 7 from #14 on its second week. Just outside of the top 10 is another instance of Something New, remixed by the dance producing genius that is Robin Schulz All these great tracks climbing into the top 10 has nearly made something go unnoticed, the top 10 dropout of Classic! Since the very first chart back on 15/09/14, Classic debuted at #1 and stayed there for 6 consecutive bi-weeks, before dropping to #2 briefly by Prayer In C and then spending another 2 weeks at the top. It held the record for most weeks (consecutive and overall) for a while until only a few weeks ago where The Nights smashed its record. It now resides at #12. Uptown Funk is unable to keep up with the wave of climbs and falls from #8 to #13 and this week's biggest faller Break Free falls down 7 from #21 to #28, another track to have lasted since the first chart. G.R.L.'s upcoming track Lighthouse is static at #29 and real chart climber Cool Kids replace's Pitbull's track at #30. We also say goodbye to long-stayer Sun Goes Down who was #28 last week. It peaked just outside the top 10 and spent 22 bi-weeks in the chart. Coincidently, had I not discovered the Robin Schulz remix of Something New, it would not have dropped out, and they are by the same artist!
Non-movers: 7 Climbers: 7 Fallers: 14 Re-entries: 0 Highest new entry: Axwell Λ Ingrosso - Something New (Robin Schulz Remix) (11) Biggest climber: I'm An Albatraoz - AronChupa (up 7 from #14 to #7) Biggest faller: Ariana Grande ft. Zedd - Break Free Biggest dropout: Robin Schulz - Sun Goes Down ft. Jasmine Thompson (28) Dropouts: 2 Dropouts

This week brings perhaps the most shuffled up chart for quite a while, as we see 3 new to the top 5 entries this week, added to which we have (finally) a new number one, which is the amazing Love Me Like You Do. The Nights falls to #2 after 11 bi-weeks at the top. The other two new to the top 5 include I'm An Albatraoz, up 3 from #7 to #4, and the Robin Schulz remix of Something New climbs from #11 to #5. The original version also peaked at #5 for one bi-week. R E A L struggles to keep in the top 10 as it sits at the very end for its third bi-week, also preventing Uptown Funk's re-entry to the top 10. One Touch slowly climbs now up 1 to #14, and Outlines climbs into the top 20 from #22 to #19. Also entering the top 20 only just is Ayo. One of the two new entries is from Fergie with her latest track at #25. The remix of Karen Harding's Say Something by Zac Samuel is new at #28. Cool Kids climb by only one place to #29 and Lighthouse slips down to #30, swapping places and being prevented by Echosmith from spending a third bi-week at #29. Will they be strong enough to hold of possible entries this Saturday by Imagine Dragon's latest single Shots, Bakermat's Teach Me or DJ Fresh's Gravity? We say a quick goodbye to Kelly's 2005 classic Since U Been Gone which unfortunately drops out from #20, and Bullit who has been with us for 28 bi-weeks at #26.
Non-movers: 4 Climbers: 12 Fallers: 12 Re-entries: 0 Highest new entry: Fergie - L.A. LOVE (La La) (25) Biggest climber: Axwell Λ Ingrosso - Something New (Robin Schulz Remix) (up 6 from #11 to #5) Biggest faller: Axwell Λ Ingrosso - Something New Biggest dropout: Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone (20) Dropouts: 2 Dropouts

The last bi-weekly chart of the month (which has no significance whatsoever but will Ellie stay at #1 for the Month End Chart? let's find out... Tuesday brought an end to the very stale top 5, as the likes of Robin Schulz, Ellie Goulding and AronChupa entered. This week, a further alteration with the top 5 took place. Ellie is still #1, but The Nights has not stayed static at #1. Robin Schulz's remix of Something New has overtaken it and is the next threat to Ellie this upcoming Tuesday, as well as Axwell /\ Ingrosso's original version (which peaked at #5). The Nights falls one place to #3. For the purpose of comparison, Classic's 14th bi-week position was also #3. However, two bi-weeks after its last week at #1 it was #2. I'm An Albatraoz falls down 1 to #5, and the majority of the 6-10 range is actually the more static part this week, with the #6-#8 postions staying the same, apart from the swapover of R E A L and Thank You, now at #9 and #10 respectively. R E A L previously spent 3 bi-weeks at #10, and has now peaked at #9. The boost of Schulz's remix has caused the original to climb to #11, and Ayo climbs a further 4 places to #16. Doing It climbs back to its peak of #20, and Bo$$ takes a big fall from #16 to #21. Fergie's latest track falls from #25 to #28. I'm not keen on the chorus with the "la la la" but I quite like the verse raps. Quite a disappointment imo The only new entry is from Sunlight and Desire star Years & Years with their latest track King at #29. Cool Kids stays cool in the low end of the top 30 at #30.
Non-movers: 11 Climbers: 8 Fallers: 10 Re-entries: 0 Highest new entry: Years & Years - King (29) (only new) Biggest climber: Chris Brown & Tyga - Ayo (up 4 from #20 to #16) Biggest faller: Fifth Harmony - Bo$$ (down 5 from #16 to #21) Biggest dropout: G.R.L. - Lighthouse (#30) (only dropout) Dropouts: 1 Dropouts

I predict that Schulz's remix will overtake Ellie this Tuesday. Also:
King is likely to climb up, possibly into the top 25, Ayo may climb up a bit more, other than that it's looking fairly poor for new entries |

Hi Thermo (I think this was your old username ) and thank you for your comment!
I quite like Burn too but a bit overrated. Especially it being 3 weeks at #1 (or perhaps I was just annoyed that Wake Me Up didn't get any more than 3 weeks because of it ) Is the Schulz remix counted within the original in your chart i.e. like the charts combine remixes etc. in one track? |

Can't see anything knocking it off until Alex Adair releases, and not even that's certain for #1 yet though I have a good feeling about it. I do combine remixes with the original and the version that 'sells' the most that week gets the credit. Though I'm listening to the original a lot more than the Robin Schulz remix which I've so far only listened to once. (it is great though) |

I've still got Goodness Gracious as my fave Ellie track atm though By the way, the 'weeks' as I put it in the chart runs are actually bi-weeks (I post charts on Tuesday and Friday) so technically it has been in the chart for 11 weeks, but in 22 charts I suppose the possibly overrated Uptown Funk is getting you put off it IIRC I saw it in your top 10 but I can't remember. I think both the remix and original of Say Something sound similar but I like the remix just a bit more |

I really like Le Youth's production style. It's nice to have different styles in the charts nowadays hoping it reaches top 20, or even top 10! I quite like her new song, and listened to it months before its release. It's actually might enter my chart this Tuesday come to think of it I think I saw someone else's chart with Ayo but can't remember who (I commented this morning actually) Updated 'Possible new and re-entries for next week' list:

Thanks for your comment Jason Would be great to Ellie #1 in your chart I think there's quite a few of us with it #1 on our charts. I know me and Mart!n have, and a few more I've seen on the MultiChart thread. I think it will be the Rather Be of 2015 on Buzzjack, the track with barely anyone hating it QUOTE [*](4) I'm An Albatraoz - AronChupa [14-7-4-5>4] What's your chart prediction for this? Well, it's not doing too bad on pre-orders, and as with all of these viral videos the video is going to really help it (it gets 1-2m views per day) and nearly at 50m views. I think streaming is going to help it because of the video as well (Assuming it will be streamable) but someone on a thread suggested the likes of The Fox and PSY's hit weren't available to pre-order (whereas this is) and really get the success on release, so I predict top 30 at least, but hope it gets top 20, seeing the amount of views and popularity The Fox had yet it only reached #17 I hope R E A L does get top 40. It all depends on pre-orders, streams etc. and I don't recall seeing it on the pre's yet but I believe there's still a few more weeks to go If I do get a track which its remix sounds too similar to the original I will consider them both at the same position, but I like the remix quite a bit more (as you could tell ) hence it appears twice This post has been edited by SPINUMINATI ADAM: 1st February 2015, 04:03 PM |
