DAY 23: Just Kiddin - "Fall For You"
Lauries House Limited • 2016

Just Kiddin first surfaced onto the scene with their single "Thinking About It", and now they're back with the just-as-calm "Fall For You". While this became an unjust DNQ in this month's BJSC, we still think that this is on track to become the one song you play while driving down the countryside to a fabulous winery. If you like a whimsical yet sophisticated house track to sip some wine to, then this is the track for you.

DAY 24: Cash Cash f/Fitz and The Tantrums - "Broken Drum"
Big Beat Records • 2016

The release of Cash Cash's latest album brings in a summer recommendation courtesy of the EDM trio themselves. This collaboration with Michael Fitzpatrick of Fitz and The Tantrums shows a more euphoric blend of their usual progressive energy coupled with a future house sound inspired by their collaboration with Digital Farm Animals (a previous ASOC representative). Their album weaves across the travels through different dance genres, from their usual progressive style to future house, to chill trap and more.

You can buy their new album Blood, Sweat & 3 Years now on iTunes.

I haven't seen you since last winter break...

JUNE 25, 2016
DAY 25: MUNA - "Winterbreak (Tiësto's Deep House Remix)"
RCA • 2016

Here's another Tiësto remix to feed your nerves a bit. This time he remixes a song from Los Angeles based trio MUNA called "Winterbreak", a normally polished and ethereal synthpop track in the vein of Imogen Heap's "Hide & Seek" turned into a fun deep house track perfect for travel blogs everywhere. While most people might think that the original is miles better than this remix, it's still pretty obvious that Tiesto brought his A-game with his creation. In their own words:
QUOTE
This song is about a love that you can’t reconcile — wanting to make a home out of a person that has proved to you time and again that they are not a home; they are just a person. It’s about retracing scars, negative patterns, all with the silent belief that moments of communion and understanding might justify months of misfiring and regret. We’re all just trying to get back to that “first high” feeling — an honest endeavor, however futile.

If you enjoy a song that blends the relaxing warmth of winter and the joyous crisp of summer, then this song is for you.

It's more than just a fantasy...

JUNE 26, 2016
DAY 26: Alexa Lusader - "Fantasy (Sokko Remix)"
603835 Records DK • 2016

For those of you who have enjoyed "No Money" by Galantis or just about any song by Sigala, here's a song that has a similar feel. Minnesota-born indie artist Alexa Lusader teams up with rising producer (and apparent former college athlete) Sokko for the remix of her latest single "Fantasy". This tropical/progressive house hybrid tinged with a few piano chords in the verses and buildup color the track and act as a bit of a catalyst to the tasteful drop that erupts from the joy in the buildup. It's like adding Mentos in a soda bottle: what comes out may seem a bit much at first but it tastes sweet nonetheless. You'll get into this song if you're into a sweet song to go cliff diving to with a Go-Pro on your head.

Creds to Spadam for this wonderful discovery!

DAY 27: Headhunterz & KSHMR - "Dharma"
Spinnin' Records • 2016

We once again have KSHMR dazzling us with his South Asian-infused festival tracks with the help of another Spinnin' bigshot: Headhunterz. Together, they creat a big room track that combines the usual EDC/Tomorrowland big room flavor (which some may see as generic) with the tinge of that KSHMR curry. The results is a track that's equal parts spicy and hard, especially with a drop that deserves to be featured in a Prince of Persia remake. If you're into that one chase scene in Aladdin fused with those action scenes in Taken 2 where Liam Neeson is running across the streets of an exotic country, then this is the track for you.

DAY 28: Archis - "Blood (APEK & Breathe Carolina Remix)"
Nettwerk • 2015

Dia Frampton-led duo Archis leads this next update, with what may possibly be one of the best things Breathe Carolina has made during their foray into dance. While this version might not have the subtlety of the original, it certainly possesses just as much power as the original. Dia's crisp and ethereal voice really blends with the buildup, which only makes the generic drop worth it in the end.

DAY 29: Deorro f/Elvis Crespo - "Bailar"
Ultra Music • 2016

You wanna know what's great with a summer jam? Some margaritas. And Deorro's bachata-infused song "Bailar" es muy perfecta para el verano. Deorro has always been fantastic at creating great party songs, including the brain-melting UK smash "Five More Hours" last year (which was one of my favorites last year), but this one is more tailored for a salsa rather than just dry-humping the first person you see at the club. If you're looking for a song to prep you for the next trip to Ibiza, or Cancun, or Cabo, or if you want to throw your own margarita party (I mean, to each his own), then this is the song for you.

DAY 30: Matoma f/Becky Hill - "False Alarm"
FFRR • 2016

We wrap up June with this tropical house jam from Matoma, featuring the brash yet elegant vocals of Becky Hill. With this chill setup and almost relaxing drop (like a lullaby, but in a good way), this song takes you places no other song can based on your perspective. Looking for paradise for one while sitting on the beach or snorkeling with family? This song will be for you.
