100 Sam Smith – Too Good At Goodbyes | 150pts
099 Ed Sheeran – Perfect | 151pts
098 Rudimental (ft. James Arthur) – Sun Comes Up | 152pts
097 Post Malone (ft. Quavo) – Congratulations | 153pt
096 The Chainsmokers – Paris | 158pts
095 Ed Sheeran – Galway Girl | 165pts
094 NF – Let You Down | 166pts
093 Enrique Iglesias (ft. Matt Terry & Sean Paul) – Subeme La Radio | 167pts
092 Louis Tomlinson (ft. Bebe Rexha & Digital Farm Animals) – Back To You | 175pts
091 Fifth Harmony (ft. Gucci Mane) – Down | 177pts

Not surprising to see Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran as the least fave songs of the year. Sam Smith's comeback single 'Too Good At Goodbyes' was a dull dreary mess which left a lot to be desired, but somehow the public lapped it up and was a pretty big #01 for him. I really don't think he will have much follow up success with future singles from the album however, and the album hasn't done as well as it should have.

We also have the first of four entries from Ed Sheeran with 'Perfect', this years Christmas #01 at 99, just narrowly beating Sam Smith. Another song that if you're not a fan of Ed, this isn't the song to convert you - a 90's style ballad which sounds like it could have been recorded by Westlife. A million remixes of this did not help BuzzJack's opinion of the song, even with a Beyoncé remix.

Not too surprising to see Rudimental low with a song that features James Arthur on 'Sun Comes Up' at 98. To me, it isn't the worst song this year and it sounded okay during the Summer. At #97 we have one of the breakout stars of the year, Post Malone, with his breakthrough hit 'Congratulations' at 97 - inoffensive but I really didn't and still don't see the fuss, there's not much going on in the song.

Talking of not much going on in the song, The Chainsmokers' 'Paris' is at #96 - the song goes absolutely nowhere and it's hard to believe this is the same act who brought us the amazing 'Roses' and 'Don't Let Me Down'. I'd like to think they can get back to being good again but I doubt it. At #95, it's Ed Sheeran again already, this time with 'Galway Girl', another 90's esque song that sounds like The Corrs almost! It's okay, but I was surprised to see this become one of the bigger hits from his album.

At #94 we have one of the newest songs on the countdown, rapper NF's 'Let You Down' which has become popular mostly thanks to Spotify. It's okay, but there's so many other songs like this that should've been doing what this is doing. At #93, it's Enrique Iglesias' summer hit 'Subeme La Radio', which I thought was going to be much bigger but ended up going out of the charts fairly quickly really. At #92, it's the lowest of the 1D solo efforts this year, Louis Tomlinson with 'Back To You' which I liked but would've worked better with Bebe on her own imo :').

At #91, is my favourite and is a shame to see so low, Fifth Harmony's comeback single 'Down' which flopped worldwide, poor hens. To think they had the biggest hit of their career with 'Work From Home' just last year to not even making Top 40 is a shame. They must be so jealous of Camila's success. The song itself was nothing groundbreaking but was catchy enough for me to think it would be a hit, alas, it was not to be.

Back to You is my favourite there, way too low sad.gif

Down was such a disappointing comeback, I adored Work from Home and most of the 7/27 era actually but this was completely limp and a basic retread of their biggest hit. Instead of proving they can carry on without Camila, they've just ensured the focus is directly on her :')

090 Lil Uzi Vert – XO Tour Llif3 | 178pts
089 Avicii (ft. Sandro Cavazza) – Without You | 179pts
088 J Hus – Did You See | 180pts
087 Jonas Blue (ft. William Singe) – Mama | 181pts
086 Yungen (ft. Yxng Bane) – Bestie | 184pts
085 David Guetta (ft. Justin Bieber) – 2U | 185pts
084 Maggie Lindemann – Pretty Girl (Cheat Codes x Cade Remix) | 187pts
083 Liam Payne (ft. Quavo) – Strip That Down | 190pts
082 Ed Sheeran – Castle On The Hill | 191pts
081 Paloma Faith – Crybaby | 194pts

At #90 is 'XO Tour Llif3', one of many urban hits this year which was a slow burner on the charts, it's okay lyrically but a bit much to listen to imo. At #89 is Avicii with 'Without You', which I listened to only once, thankfully. He still has 'Lonely Together' which will be much higher on this countdown. Talking of slow burning urban hits, probably one of the most successful urban acts this year, J Hus with 'Did You See' at #88.

Jonas Blue released one of the songs of the summer in 'Mama' which is at #87, it's another formulaic radio dance hit but it's nothing offensive. 'Bestie' continues the trend of urban hits at #86, which I always found fairly overrated - the chorus is so repetitive and dull. David Guetta attempted to salvage his career with '2U' which was only a hit because Justin. At #84 is my favourite from this group, which is saying something, a nice enough song but Spotify dance hit by numbers.

Liam is the second 1D member to crash out with 'Strip That Down', with entries from Zayn and Harry still to come. An okay effort but the lyrics are diabolical and I was low key hoping for a much better banger.

At #82 is another Ed song with 'Castle On The Hill', probably the most tolerable of the singles he has released this year although BuzzJack disagrees as 'Shape Of You' is yet to come. Paloma Faith's comeback single 'Crybaby' is at #81 which is nice enough but nothing on previous hits by her imo.

080 Stefflon Don (ft. French Montana) – Hurtin’ Me | 195pts
079 Sigrid – Don’t Kill My Vibe | 198pts
078 Martin Jensen – Solo Dance | 202pts
077 Mabel (ft. Kojo Funds) – Finders Keepers | 207pts
076 JP Cooper – September Song | 208pts
075 The Chainsmokers & Coldplay – Something Just Like This | 214pts
074 DJ Khaled (ft. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne) – I’m The One | 217pts
073 Charlie Puth – How Long | 218pts
072 Starley – Call On Me | 220pts
071 Future – Mask Off | 221pts

At #80 is a song I was expecting to be much higher, Stefflon Don's break out hit 'Hurtin' Me', a banger full of attitude that is hard to ignore despite it's repetitive and fairly basic chorus. Shame she had to follow it up with 'Ding A Ling'. At #79 is Sigrid with her debut 'Don't Kill My Vibe', a song that should've been a huge hit, but alas, it wasn't to be sad.gif I am not too sure she will find success in the future either.

'Solo Dance' is at #78 which starts off promising but that drop makes it sound like an Avicii reject sad.gif. At #77 we have another one to watch in 2018, Mabel with her breakthrough hit 'Finders Keepers'. At #76 is JP Cooper with 'September Song', he started off so promisingly with that and 'Perfect Strangers' but follow ups have all flopped unfortunately for him.

At #75 we have the colloboration no one needed in 'Something Just Like This', much like #74 with DJ Khaled's 'I'm The One' which is nice enough but doesn't feel like the hit it was and felt like it largely sold on name alone. 'Wild Thoughts' is rightfully much higher up.

The first of two entries from Charlie Puth is at #73 with 'How Long', a nice enough song but maybe a bit too similar to 'Attention' and not half as good either. At #72 is Starley's 'Call On Me' which was a huge dance hit at the beginning of the year and is still such a banger. At #71 is suprisingly Future's 'Mask Off' - who knew this would do better than the likes of Stefflon Don, Fifth Harmony, Paloma Faith and Mabel laugh.gif Go BuzzJack liking urban smashes.

070 Steps – Scared Of The Dark | 224pts
069 ALMA – Chasing Highs | 225pts
068 Harry Styles – Sign Of The Times | 227pts
067 Niall Horan – Slow Hands | 228pts
066 Clean Bandit (ft. Julia Michaels) – I Miss You | 229pts
065 Stormzy – Big For Your Boots | 230pts
064 Post Malone (ft. 21 Savage) – Rockstar | 231pts
063 MK – 17 | 232pts
062 Cheat Codes (ft. Demi Lovato) – No Promises | 234pts
061 Lorde – Perfect Places | 236pts

At #70 is Steps big comeback which went down a storm on BuzzJack, it was like they never left! I'm not huge on the song but I was never that huge on them in the first place, it's a nice enough comeback though.

At #69 is ALMA's breakthrough hit 'Chasing Highs' which got Top 20 in the UK earlier in the year. It sadly defines generic tropical pop for me however. At #68 is Harry Styles' debut single 'Sign Of The Times' which soared to #01 early in the year and was very different to anything else in the chart, it's the third highest from 1D's solo efforts this year however with Zayn's 'Dusk Till Dawn' still to come! At #67 narrowly beating Harry is Niall's 'Slow Hands', a much better effort than his two other singles imo.

At #66 is Clean Bandit's latest single with Julia Michaels, 'I Miss You' and probably the most underrated out of their current era. It's not an in your face banger like their previous three singles but the subtlety of it makes it so great and slowly hooks you whilst I got bored of 'Rockabye' and 'Symphony' fairly quickly. Stormzy's big hit of the year 'Big For Your Boots' and Post Malone's 'Rockstar' are at #65 and #64 respectively.

At #63 is MK's '17' which is still doing the business in the charts. It's slowly crept up on me recently and was the perfect New Years anthem, I'm willing for it to become an even bigger hit than it already is. At #62 is Cheat Codes' 'No Promises' with Demi Lovato, a fairly divisive song on BuzzJack but one that I love, the start of Demi slaying this year as she still has 'Sorry Not Sorry' and 'Instruction' to come.

At #61 is the only song I'm not too familiar with on this chart, but BuzzJack fave Lorde with her followup to 'Green Light', 'Perfect Places'! 'Green Light' is much higher up and has been tipped to win, we will find out soon if she can do it.

' I Miss You' has grown on me a huge amount, It's not as infectious as 'Symphony' or 'Tears' but I prefer it to Rockabye which I've still never really managed to like, I'm glad it's managed to be a successful single after worrying about it's initial couple of weeks performance on iTunes. Spotify really helped 'I Miss You' as has the constant 59p on iTunes.

I think 'No Promises' is the best thing Demi has released this year closely followed by 'Instruction'. 'Sorry Not Sorry' is an abomination. I'm also surprised to see how low 'Pretty Girl' is on this countdown, I thought it would have been a song that would be adored on Buzzjack?

060 Katy Perry (ft. Migos) – Bon Appetit | 237pts
059 Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do | 238pts
058 Pink – Beautiful Trauma | 239pts
057 Zedd & Alessia Cara – Stay | 241pts
056 Portugal The Man – Feel It Still | 244pts
055 ZAYN (ft. Sia) – Dusk Till Dawn | 245pts
054 Anton Powers & Pixie Lott – Baby | 246pts
053 Stormzy (ft. MNEK) – Blinded By Your Grace, pt. II | 247pts
052 Julia Michaels – Issues | 248pts
051 Drake – Passionfruit | 249pts

At #60 is where it went all wrong for Katy. 'Bon Appetit' was the followup to her comeback single 'Chained To The Rhythm' and unfortunately had an overwhelming negative reception when it landed. I think it's one of the most unjust floppings this year however, it is an absolute BOP an I will not hear otherwise.

At #59, just above Katy ironically, is Taylor with her comeback #01 single 'Look What You Made Me Do', a swipe at Kim & Kanye. I think it is one of the worst comebacks this year personally, and she is capable of such better. A strange choice of a comeback single as it will alienate people even further. I think this has shown to the fairly underwhelming reception to the whole 'Reputation' era so far. Never fear, '...Ready For It?' is still to come!

At #58 we have Pink with 'Beautiful Trauma', the followup to 'What About Us' which sees her more classic Pink rather than tropical pop she opted for in 'What About Us'. I highly prefer it to 'What About Us' too, a classic Pink song that worms it's way in your affections.

At #57 is one of the biggest dance songs of 2017, Zedd's 'Stay' with Alessia Cara. A fairly generic song but still a bop nonetheless. At #56 we have 'Feel It Still' by Portugal The Man, a song that could still smash in 2018 potentially! At #55 we have the highest song by a member of 1D, Zayn's 'Dusk Till Dawn' with Sia.

At #54 is 'Baby' by Anton Powers & Pixie Lott, the hit that never was! So feel good and such a good dance song. I'm surprised to see this fairly high on here but I'm not complaining at all, honestly one of my favourite songs of 2017.

At #53 is one of the biggest stars of 2017, Stormzy with 'Blinded By Your Grace pt.II' with MNEK, who was unfortunately snubbed from his X Factor performance of it. This is one of the only songs I haven't really heard much on the countdown!

At #52 is a song that I thought would be a bit higher, Julia Michaels' 'Issues'. A nice enough song and different to what else what is out there but nothing outstanding imo which I know probably isn't a popular opinion. At #51 is Drake's 'Passionfruit' which much like other Drake songs is nice enough but fairly forgettable.

'Baby' was such a frustrating single to follow on the official charts, it was doing decently on iTunes and even managed to go top twenty five but it fell rather fast once promotion stopped and Spotify never really supported 'Baby' and when it was added to Summer playlists it was nowhere to be seen on iTunes, I do wonder if it would have done better had it been released in Summer because it really is an absolute summer bop. #Justice4Pixie

050 Selena Gomez – Bad Liar | 248pts
049 Demi Lovato – Sorry Not Sorry | 249pts
048 James Hype (ft. Kelli-Leigh) – More Than Friends | 250pts
047 Selena Gomez & Marshmello – Wolves
046 Sigala & Ella Eyre – Came Here For Love | 259pts
045 Sean Paul (ft. Dua Lipa) – No Lie | 264pts
044 Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You | 265pts
043 Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee (ft. Justin Bieber) – Despacito | 266pts
042 Carly Rae Jepsen – Cut To The Feeling | 267pts
041 Marshmello (ft. Khalid) – Silence | 269pts

At #50 is 'Bad Liar', Selena Gomez’s first solo single since her Revival era. This was a brilliant and refreshing change in sound for her but didn’t quite set the charts alight. Selena’s BFF Demi Lovato is #49 with 'Sorry Not Sorry', a change in sound for her too which ended up her biggest hit in the US!

At #48 is 'More Than Friends' by James Hype, a hit song that came out of nowhere and sampled En Vogue, seemingly divisive but I really liked it. Selena Gomez appears again at #47 with 'Wolves', a collab with producer Marshmello that added to her top 10 tally.

At #46 is the return of both Sigala and Ella Eyre, with 'Came Here For Love', one of the best offerings to date from both artists. It was a big summer hit and showed Sigala and Ella both could have success in the OA/OS era. Sean Paul and Dua Lipa are #45 with 'No Lie', Dua’s first top 10 hit and Sean Paul’s 14th!

At #44 is the inescapable 'Shape Of You' by Ed Sheeran, which has done better than I expected so a fair amount of Buzzjack still isn’t sick of it. Another long-runner is at #43, 'Despacito' by Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber. These two were #1 for a combined 25 weeks, one week away from being half the year.

At #42 is a song that wasn’t a hit by any means but a big anthem nonetheless, Carly Rae Jepsen with 'Cut To The Feeling' from her Emotion: Side B+ EP. And at #41 is Marshmello again, this time with Khalid on 'Silence'.

040 Logic (ft. Alessia Cara & Khalid) – 1-800-273-8255 | 270pts
039 Justin Bieber & BloodPop – Friends | 272pts
038 Pink – What About Us | 275pts
037 Miley Cyrus – Malibu | 278pts
036 French Montana (ft. Swae Lee) – Unforgettable | 286pts
035 Louisa Johnson – Best Behaviour | 294pts
034 Shawn Mendes – There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back | 296pts
033 Charli XCX – Boys | 300pts
032 Little Mix (ft. Stormzy) – Power | 312pts
031 Charlie Puth – Attention | 322pts

Khalid has back-to-back features at #41 and #40, here it’s '1-800-273-8255' with Logic and Alessia Cara. It's a song with a brilliant message of suicide prevention; the title is the phone number for the suicide hotline in the US, which you probably already knew. At #39 is Justin Bieber with 'Friends', an outstanding song that may have suffered commercially due to too much Bieber in the charts.

At #38 was a much more successful comeback single, P!nk with 'What About Us'. It enjoyed a very long run in the top 10 with relatively low streaming support! Miley Cyrus also came back this year with 'Malibu', at #37. It ended up her fourth single to peak at #11, very frustrating!

From Hannah Montana to French Montana, he's at #36 with 'Unforgettable', which features Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd. This was one of my favorite songs of last year. wub.gif Next at #35 is Louisa Johnson with 'Best Behaviour', a song that was full of personality and seemingly perfect for her! Alas it missed the top 40 and she still hasn't put out an album. sad.gif

At #34 is Shawn Mendes with 'There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back,' the single from the re-release of his second album Illuminate. Charli XCX is ahead of Shawn at #33 with 'Boys'. The video generated a lot of attention for the song, but it still underperformed a bit on the charts.

At #32 is Little Mix, who got Stormzy to do a guest verse for 'Power', their fourth single from Glory Days. It very easily continued the streak of top 20 peaks for all their singles! And at #31 is Charlie Puth with 'Attention', the lead single of his forthcoming second album. It was off to a very strong start but ended up stalling at #9.
